Need a couple especially when we got ND week 1 and if Emory or Mendoza is the QB, we’re going to need to prevent other teams from scoring much. Considering we won’t be lighting up the scoreboard.

I could see it with Rivers potentially. I've heard GREAT things about Jojo, Ny Carr and Robinson. Hopefully we get a taste in the bowl game. I would take that TE all day but I wouldnt have it as a top priority at the moment. Think we've recruited that position really well.

Im not just talking about portal (I understand I only mentioned portal though) and I’m definitely salty about the QB situation I will admit. But even our HS closing was a let down & Yesterday we missed out on Rivers, Mateer, Silver, Calhoun & seemingly singleton & Horton and we gained Daniels which is great but we have no momentum right now. Not to mention Guidry still has a job. Which IF he does return then just announce it as such and be done with it.

I typically am more sunshine and glass half full but ever since we were up 21-0 against Cuse we’ve taken a massive nose dive in all areas and if there’s a light at the end of the tunnel it’s looking awfully dim right now.

Yeah.....I just don't think all that thinking goes into it.
Maybe I'm wrong. Just can't imagine them coming up with this intricate plan to change the fan perception of the QB they wanted all allong....but anything is possible

Who are all of these alternatives that we are desperately pursuing? We went hard after Mateer because he is a clear upgrade and we are linked to Mendoza, who still hasn't visited.

I am not saying Emory is the answer. I honestly have no idea because we've barely seen him play this past season. But this is much different than last season when we were basically a revolving door of portal QBs.

Of course we should always aim to get better but you aren’t selling a single legit transfer to come here without handing them the job. Thus, you don’t really love the current room…you just may like it.

On today’s live show Pete said we didn’t push hard for Rivers because of an injury that’s likely to keep him out through spring.

Who knows. We do seem to focus on some weird **** at times. Like it is 4D chess vs lining up a defense lol

get the back end figured out - that was the most glaring issue and should be targeted (again) this year - we need 4 min. we rolled with some of the dumbest mfers alive back there and can't repeat that ****.
as far as the qb goes - if ya'll didnt see the writing on the wall that we were rollin with Em and the frosh - ya cant be helped. been getting those tea leaves since mid season tbh.
 
Outside of the QB part, I like the sound of this. If we can add Lucas I'd feel very good about our CB room for the next couple of years with him and OJ manning the boundaries. both ZP's having multiple years left as well could really make the secondary a strength for us. If the young cats can step up at LB and along the DL next year I actually am not too worried about that side of the ball next year.

This is exactly why we aren't heavily recruiting guys like Mensah or Arnold or others. We are looking for CLEAR upgrades without shooting our load at every quarterback who tosses his name in the mix.

I don't know if Emory is the answer, but hopefully you can at least see that the strategy this offseason is much different than last offseason.

I think that’s a horrible reason personally.

But oh well. We brought him in a visit very quickly, so I’m not even totally sure that’s valid.
