I've been trying to tell folks here for a while now, Emory Williams is a beast. He can take a team to a championship.

I respect your opinion. But one of the biggest issues I’ve had with Miami over the past two decades is there were never any legitimate QB battles other than maybe Marve v Harris that first season. Players need to earn it.

I'm not getting involved with this toxic back and forth because none of us actually know until the Transfer Portal closes and the real bullets start flying.

I will say though that Williams' mechanics have clearly improved from Year 1 to Year 2.
I.. honestly can't tell if you're messing with me or its sarcasm. Because..

Emory has only thrown 12 passes this year, all in one game, in garbage time, exactly 3 months ago.

I'm not sure how we can say his mechanics have clearly improved, unless we're talking about in practice? Or..

I want Mateer too but the fact that the majority of yall are incapable of understanding that a kid can get better is one of the funniest things I see on this board annually.

Can this team with the ACC with 2023 Emory Williams? Obviously not. Can they win it with 2025 Emory Williams? Maybe. I can’t say yes or no, because the kid could (and should, and probably IS) be significantly better than the last time anyone saw him play.

To me, the real question starts on defense. Y’all are focusing on the wrong ****. Cam Ward couldn’t win the ACC with the 2024 defense. So who cares if it’s Emory or anyone else in 2025? If the defense isn’t a lot better, it doesn’t matter.
Can Emery get better, absolutely but arm strength is usually something that’s God-given and from what I’ve seen of Emery, he doesn’t have that.

We’ve seen him play, he’s not good. 100% need a starting QB from the portal
Agree we need a proven startee in 25 where this team is. Absurd to say he isnt good based on throwing him out there in 23.
Seen plenty of kids that shouldn't be on the field yet look bad

He looked night and day different this year from a physical stand point

People get caught up on 2 good throws he made during crunch time but was *** the rest of the game. Our defense and AJ Allen won us the game.

I’m telling y'all, we aren’t winning 7-8 games with Emory next year.
For a True Freshman making his first start against that caliber of opponent he did all you could ask him to do n got the W gotta give him credit. But No, Emory is not the answer for next year if we wanna contend for the ACC/Playoffs

Thats why you play emory….have to see if he can play and play well…save the money for the defense
Miller Moss threw for 5 TDs in the bowl game and then was meh this season so bowl game doesn't mean much.

PS: I'm sure he will prison rape our defense next year for Louisville unless this guy is gone.

I'm not advocating for Emory as a starter. I have no idea if he could be effective or not, but we also have seen very little and it's just as wrong to claim he can't as to claim he can. Nothing should be given to him or any other QB, but he should have a chance to compete for the starting job. Meanwhile, some are saying Lagway is still this mythical QB who just needs more time to get better after his very mediocre play this season. It seems the "I've seen him play, he's not good" is applied very selectively and biasedly by a lot of people
