The Bank (11/13)

“Loaded” teams don’t go 6-4 unless coaches suck…
You misunderstood the meaning of loaded. It’s loaded like a freight train ala Axl Rose, not a roster full of talent loaded.

I thought the same thing about the CB after seeing Brown and Richard lock down FSUs WRs. Plus how Porter has played this year.

A top 3 of Brown, Porter, and Richard is very solid. Get Stafford to develop. Would be nice to see us land more top guys to keep it rolling though
But they’ll get burnt against GT and Boston college receivers

He’s going to play Football/Baseball at UF if he’s not drafted high enough.

That’s what I’ve heard.

Gotta believe they’ve paid him BIIIG upfront money and probably continue to pay him to keep him on board. Can’t see any other reason he’d be so adamant about still being 100%.

Of course I look at our class and our team and have to wonder the same thing.

What’s the ceiling of this current class?

We’re currently 11th (after LSU lost a commitment today). Closer to 13-14 considering who probably passes us, but they still have to do so.

Say we win out - what’s the ceiling? How many quality flips?
I think we end up a 7 again.

7 would be phenomenal as long as that 7 isn’t a deceiving class with 33 kids, yet 16th in average rating per recruit.

7 would probably mean we have to beat Louisville and BC, hold onto all blue chips committed, and add 3-4 more. I haven’t done calculations but I’m sure it’s possible.

We would have a massive ****show if we took 33 kids! We don't have room for 25 as of now so expect some heavy portal departures and early medical retirements to go along with too early NFL departures.

I could see us with 26-28 commits. I'd expect 2-3 to find new homes that aren't happy with the "communication."

Walk me through how you believe we get there.
There are six schools we aren’t passing should head coaching positions remain firm: UGA, Bama, FSU, Ohio St, Oregon and Texas. I know the latter is only a smidge ahead of us in the rankings, but they’re probably going to land Kobi Black and a few others when it’s all set in stone.

I say HC positions because if Lanning (or Norvell) bolt, obviously that changes things. Maybe A&M stays ahead instead of Oregon, idk. But I think it’s relatively safe to say we’re not passing those 6.

That leaves a UF collapse (en route but they can add a guy like Mincey to stop the hemorrhaging), OU, A&M, Auburn, Michigan, Penn St, LSU, Tennessee, Clemson and USC as teams all within the same realm as us. If you want to include SCar, sure, but I don’t think they’re a true threat to pass us.

LSU, Penn St and Michigan all have the same # of commits as us, but USC and Clemson both have eight less. USC will emphasize portal approach imo, but Clemson is an interesting one. Auburn also can jump us rather quickly as they have $$ ready and seven less commits.

As of today, I’d say we finish 10. Should we lose to Louisville and BC, I say we finish closer to 15.
