Most of those Clemson classes were ranked between 7th-15th. They just happened to excel specifically at DL and had the fortune of landing Watson + Lawrence consecutively.

exactly its about D line and qb
as long as you land talent there the overall ranking doesnt matter
we had plenty of top 10 classes bc we had a ton of high ranked skill guys like 2018 but the class was actually trash bc we were trash in the trenches

Our recruiting average has been on par with LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon etc teams

Not OSU, Alabama, UGA, Texas

Now yes the rankings are skewed towards programs like this in the first place but to me I don’t care much what number class we land because sheer numbers can make it look better than it is. If our recruit average is around 91 and OSU/UGA/Bama is 93+ that’s a big difference

i dont care about the actually ranking
as long as we land elite guys on both sides of the LOS esp DT
the 2018 class was ranked pretty high
but the oline and dline recruits that year were no where near top 10
more like top 50 at best

as long as we land elite guys on both sides of the LOS esp DT
the 2018 class was ranked pretty high
but the oline and dline recruits that year were no where near top 10
more like top 50 at best

Mario’s recruiting is on a totally different level than Manny/Richt you don’t need rankings to back it up

Right now we are recruiting on a playoff level but not championship level just yet

We've turned a major corner already, kids like Francis, Bain, Scott we never would've landed on the LOS pre Mario. We now need to land a high school QB, WR, and corner or two on that level. But the portal has helped us fill that gap.

in my opinion its easier to find elite skill players in the portal than elite DTs and oline

Barrow has actually played great for us. But we did also snag Baron too who has been a very good addition

Yes of course evals are important but there is a strong correlation bw recruiting rankings and success on the field, especially the last 5-7 years.

Pretty sure Caleb Down entered the portal with OSU as the choice. Kind of hard to get a guy who was only entering to go to 1 place. Based solely on stats I wouldn't say Harmon is much better than Barrow. However, I have not watched a single Oregon game so maybe he is making an impact in other ways that Barrow isn't.
