First, I don't understand how an SEC school can fire any coach for minor cheating violations. I believe that is a violation of SEC by-laws.

To be clear I wouldn’t call this hiring a demotion for Smith but more of his role changing , less on his plate. This guy is more of an evaluation , personnel GM type position.

This is important but if Smiff is the primary contact with recruits, that’s still a problem from what I can deduce from comments given by guys who have dealt with hm.
