Don't think the situations - now and that era - are similar.
It's a huge game because we have not won a single primetime matchup in the Golden era. I'm less worried about sparking the next great era for our program and more concerned about seeing some evidence that we're being led by someone who can do more with less. Golden has done "more with less" from every standpoint other than on the field. It's time to transfer that ability to the scoreboard. Let's do this.
We haven't been good enough to be in a "primetime matchup". So I don't think he has actually lost one yet. The games against FSU and Notre Dame mean alot to us for obvious reasons but the only reason the rest of the country paid attention was because of expectations for those schools and our tradition. It wasn't because they thought we had a shot to win. ****, Herbstreit said at the beginning of last year's FSU game that he just wanted to see us compete and not get blown out like the 2010 game and the games against Notre Dame and Kansas State.
Saturday's game is the first in Golden's tenure that he has a team capable of beating a top 10 team. Partly because that Gator team is vulnerable. He gets them at home. Lets see what he can do.
The Ohio Taint game was a primetime matchup that The Don won.
