Tackle recruiting

I mistakenly quoted you. In any case, everyone wants to stack 5 star OL every class. I take issue with yall saying they stack 5 star OL every class. Its simply not true. They do their share of developmental players. We brought in 4 tackles in 2 years. If they can recruit McCoy and Cooper who had no national ranking and are already better than 4 star players Manny recruited why would i be on here crying all day? And when people point out that the big schools dont just bring in 5 star OL every cycle. Yall make excuses. In addition @DMoney started this thread to address TACKLE recruiting specifically. Yet yall know for a fact that playing time is not proving a problem there. Because u feel like it.

I have not seen anyone post UGA stacks 5* OL every class. If I missed it, please post it.

You raised NIL money drying up at OT. Yes. Right now that’s not where it’s going. Hopefully they use some on the guard Ahfua but I have not heard any chatter about negotiations with OT’s and big $. l’ve heard plenty regarding the DL.
I actually didn’t say OT, I said OL. I’ve been stating OL for several threads now. Now I’m done; something bothered me when I was doing push ups & realized I didn’t address this.

You did upvote the guy that told me Texas had a better OL class than us period. That bothered me when I looked at the top 2 OL recruits from each:

Miami

1. What does that have to do w what I replied?

2. I liked his msg b/c I thought he was referring to their 2022 OL class v. our 2023 OL class, not ‘23 v. ‘23. If I read throughout the entire dialogue, I would’ve caught 2023 v. 2023 & wouldn’t have liked the msg.

You said you were bothered by something, so was I. 💁🏻‍♂️

They’re trying to get the guard Ahfua but I have no idea where they stand on that. They’ve whiffed on their top center targets for two consecutive classes. They don’t have IOL excuses I do get the OT issues though given what they landed last class and where money is being channeled.

My bother was I forgot to respond to u, as in there’s something I needed to do, but couldn’t remember, then all of a sudden it was ding ding ding. It had nothing to do w u or ur response, & everything to do w/ I couldn’t remember what I was going to do.

Ok. I’ve had 10 minutes to look at the board today. That swamped at work.

Exactly. This narrative floating around is dumb. No other big time schools have trouble stacking the same positions year after year. Down class? sure. Worried about the guys in front of them? Never heard of it before.
That's because they have a proven track record of wining and development. The bottom line is we need to win and put these young men into the NFL. Then, it becomes plug and play like Bama, UGA, or OSU. They can point to each year of success on the field and at the draft. The pitch is easy for them. Come here, work hard, wait your turn, play for championships, and be developed as an NFL prospect.

, Currently, there's only 1 of 3 points available.
1. Winning - TBD
2. Development - proven at Oregon
3. Early playing time - NO

Your counting both Tinalau and Kinsler as OTs or OT/OG hybrids?

... Wonder how Tripp is going to turn out. He was an amazing class ambassador, so he's got my vote regardless. But I feel like we let a good one get away in Lew.
I'd like to see Tripp move to center. He's the right size for a center. Everyone else on the line is 6'5"+.

FOLLOW THE MONEY
We are not investing NIL into Oline this year like we did last year. This year it’s Dline. Next year I bet it will be a big time QB
Gibson will eat a big chunk of the budget if we get him.
Its all about the money.

IMO there are no great recruiters. There are lots of good recruiters who mistakenly get labeled as great or terrible depending on much money they have at their disposal. You think Hartline was great before OSU paid for all those receivers?
You think Trob won people over with his personality?

MONEY, MONEY AND MONEY has always run college sports.
You think John Wooden was great? No, he was very good and Sam ______ bought John the players he needed to win.
Duke bought players for Coach K

I can give you a million examples of how good became great or terrible depending on the money behind them.

So there is no mystery to why we aren’t recruting 5 star tackles. We are allocating funds in different places this year.
Other than there's only 1 5-star OL this cycle. Even if there were more top OL available this year, to your point, they are spending the NIL at positions of need.

Mario told us the blueprint when he got here. Championships are built from the trenches. He built his OL. Now, it's time to focus on the DL.

Also, the DL selling point is going against our top OL everyday in practice and being coached by an HOF and an NFL DT.

How you gotta start somewhere. Also if that’s the case. How did BAMA win the MNC in Saban’s second year? After an 7-6 record. He had to have some talent and convince someone to come BAMA after that record.

You are not comparing Nick Saban going 7-6, despite already having a National Championship in the same decade(in the same conference at that) to his name, and giving the Dolphins a solid season in one of our worst decades...to Mario Cristobal's resume to this point, in addition to us going 5-7.

We just convinced a lot of good players to come here.

You guys need to chill out. I like Mario but he’s not Nick Saban

This thread should be closed. Gator fans must be laughing there *** off at us thinking we should be recruiting at bamas level right now after last season.

If the season goes well, it’ll change as it’s been said in every other ******* cis thread
