Sunday scrimmage

Kacy should be kicked off the team for horse collaring Duke

Why am I not surprised it was #22

Rodeo Rodgers is always tackling around the neck. Dude's clueless in the tackling game, which isn't a great thing for a Safety.

He had like three DDTs last year. **** was ridiculous.

I hope Bush has worked that out, too. Now that he's over 200, I hope to see less reaching for the neck/facemask. IIRC, we got some 15 yarders.

Anybody else think its bizarre that Clements is touted as a short yardage back and weighs less than Duke?
192 lbs is not what I have always imagined as a short yardage bulldozer.

He's actually an excellent short yardage back because he hits the hole at 100 mph and has great forward lean. He did a really nice job in that role two years ago and supplanted Mike James toward the end of that season.

I think our defensive starters will be fine. The DL got a good push, which is impressive considering our OL.

Only thing I'm worried about is depth. We don't really have much.

Oh, and Sandland gives the derpiest stares ever.

Lots of depth being held out of the scrimmage because they're not allowed to hit until they've been through 5 (?) practices. Gilbert, Kamalu and Renfrow suddenly make that sparse DL pretty formidable.

Perhaps Derosier, too.

Adding four productive bodies to the rotation is HUGE.

If he's clueless in the tackling game, what is he in the passing game?

Remember him spinning around like a dradle on that TD pass against fsu a few years ago? He hasn't gotten any better since then.

16 carries a game, man. That's what we're looking for, on average, from the cast of Crawford, Clements, Hagens, Dillard and Edwards. In the bigger games, I guess that'd be more like 8-10 between all of those. Only way we get to over 450 carries without destroying Duke.

Yezzir. Adding two proven grown men (Gilbert and Renfrow) to the rotation is absolutely unbelievable. It's The Don's greatest coup yet if you ax me (and even if you don't). Renfrow isn't a star, but he's a behemoth who has been through the wars. Would you rather have him in there as a backup or what we were trotting out there last year (freshmans like Moore and Ivory and King)?

He wouldn't go back to Texas. He'd have to go to whatever house an employed NFL D-line coach can afford in the Miami area and he'd take the black jersey he earned with him. We'll see if it stays that way after the scrimmage. Bush probably has until Wednesday to get going with the scrimmage on Friday. If he isn't ready Rodgers will be starting against FAU and probably against Florida.

STACEY COLEY IS WITH THE FIRST TEAM OFFENSE .. THATS BIG!
.

Kind of amazing that they're testing him on that stage so early. Really says a whole lot about Coley's willingness to "grind." Sky's the **** limit. WOO!

That's about as emotional I've seen you get in 5 years about this football team, in a positive way I should say. You OK?

I agree though, its crazy. I have been with ESF from the beginning that Coley is the best WR we have landed since Dre so to see this has got me giddy as well.

In a non-game scenario, yeah. This is about the best I've felt. Last year, I nearly lost my mind (in a positive way) during the GTech, NCstate and VTech games. That GTech game specifically, my house was torn to shreds.

Especially when we went to overtime with GT and EJ got that goal line stop. I **** near lost my mind.

That's right. I think axing Duke to tote it more than 18 times per game on average might still be too much for him. He was dinged A LOT last year. I think people underestimate just how tough and hard Duke runs. He's not one of those small jitterbug backs. He's a small back who will drop a shoulder and put some plastic on you. He's got a nasty stiff arm, and I love him between the tackles more than outside. Still not sure his body is cut out for the style he brings for more than 18 carries per game.

Bush hasn't participated in any practices yet has he? If he hasn't, then he's going to have to go through I think 5 non-hitting practices before the ncaa will allow him to be involved in hitting.

I know the red jersey means no contact. I don't know if having it on means your acclimation period can't begin. If thats the case then he wouldn't be ready for the scrimmage, which means he probably wouldn't start against FAU but would be available.

Maybe they get to fudge the rule by putting the red jersey on him.

I'm pretty sure Williams was quoted as saying he didn't think Bush would be ready for FAU.

send his *** back to texas.

I actually don't think he could start for a good Texas HS football team. I actually know he couldn't.

If he hurt Duke on that play holy **** he would have been killed by the ghost of Sean Taylor.
