Stephen Morris vs Florida St

Morris footwork is terrible. Either Coley is a clown or Morris is suffering from an injury and mentally not recovered from it. And the underthrow to Coley in the 3rd which resulted in an INT sealed the game.

nope the 28-14 score and 35-14 score sealed the game..... the defense has to do their jobs to, i thought u knew that about football?

we were 4-12 on third downs. is that on the D too?

lol Miami's offense was 50% on 3rd downs before the score got out of hand, wtf u saying?

before the 2nd half, Miami was 3 for 7 on 3rd downs and 1 for 1 on 4th downs... the 4th down conversion came after Morris ran for 9 yards on 3rd & 10 previously.

50% on conversions.... the offense did their jobs against an elite defense. Miami's defense allowed FSU's offense to go 11-15 on 3rd down conversions.

It's on the D and D'nofrio.... you do know that the more conversions the defense gives up the less opportunity the offense has to be on the field.... how do i know, b/c Miami's offense was only on the field for 20 minutes even though they did a **** good job of completing 3rd downs.

and in the second half we started w the ball and barely took any time off the clock. 15:00 3 01:45 MIA 31 5 0 Punt

btw zone, our offense only had 1 drive of over 4 min. u want to look at why we only had the ball for 20 min thats part of it too. they were getting us off the field. our D wasnt getting off the field but if ur offense (which we all thought was the strength of the team) isn't putting together long drives, its not gonna help the D either. we got 2 picks in the first half and limited winston as much as any team has limited him all season. we weren't suddenly gonna be Bama on D this year after being one of the worst in the nation. what were doing on D this year (the improvement) is great and it should only get better.

The offense didn't do their job because they didn't put points on the board. 14 points is nothing, 14 points blows cack.

Let's move on.

Stephen Morris isn't even in the top 40 in FBS passer rating. The top ten features the following names:

Winston, Mariota, Bridgewater, McCarron, Mettenberger, Petty, Miller, Manziel.....

Guys from 10-25 include Boyd, Murray, Franklin, Mannion, Shaw, Hundley, and Gardner.

The guy is a MIDDLE OF THE PACK MEDIOCRE QB. The numbers show that. Kid had no business being here, and yet he was the only thing Shannon left over!

lol so what?.... punt the ball b/c that's a part of football and the defense is suppose to get you the ball back w/o going down 28-14.

was the sack on 3rd &8 Morris's fault? move on, oh that's right the score was 28-14 after the punt lol.

2nd Half

15th: 1st play a good pass to Clive Walford on a play action..... short route, another pass that ppl make up and say he cant throw.

16th: Bad throw by Stephen Morris to Herb Waters, also a misread b/c Walford was more open on that play.

17th: Sack on 3rd & 8.... thats what happens when you have a Center playing guard, Jared Wheeler didnt pick up the blitz at all. No wonder B. Linder is back at guard where he shouldve been all alone. smh Coaches fault

The offense didn't do their job because they didn't put points on the board. 14 points is nothing, 14 points blows cack.

Let's move on.

Goudis missed a FG after Morris got the offense in scoring range on their 1st drive.... so that's 3 points off the board.

Duke was about to house a Run that the refs blew a whistle on, that's another missed opportunity.

Coley missed a touchdown trying to catch the ball w/ 1 hand instead of 2 that's another missed opportunity.

Look buddy you keep talking about the offense only scored 14 points, you sound ridiculous.... the score was 35-14 after 2 possessions by the offense. Who the **** is to blame for why FSU scored a TD 2/2 times after UM's offense didnt finish a drive?

The passing play calling on the first couple drives was fantastic. Easy short and medium throws. Watching the video it seems that we got away from that in the second half. A lot of the passing plays we have a bunch of guys streaking downfield. We get the ball with it 28-14, the game is on the line and we throw a bomb for an int. I understand the temptation once we start getting down to try to get the points back quickly. But we don't need a bomb there. We need first downs, a long sustained drive, keeping the fsu o on the sidelines and let our defense rest.

The other thing that stands out is the mistakes. We left a lot of points and plays out there due to poor execution. FSUs offense isn't making those mistakes, they are executing and moving the ball. Of course a lot of that is Winston vs Morris.

the bomb was wide ****ing open, there was nothing wrong with the call

yeah i agree that it was more a problem with execution than conception. However, it's still a low percentage play, especially given the caliber of the opponent. Even if it's not a pick, the most likely result is an incompletion and now it's 2nd and 10. We need it to be 2nd and 2. Or how about a short throw for a first down? The results speak for themselves in this game. Our successful drives that resulted in points or near points were built on running the ball and short and medium throws.

FACTS buddy Miami's offense was 50% on 3rd downs and the 1 4th down conversion together..... you dont want to give the offense any credit b/c S. Morris is the quarterback and you hate him but let it go.... you have a personal problem.

Oh and before you say "Well Coley doesnt coach him like Fisch".....an uninjured, Jedd Fisch coached Morris had a WORSE RATING LAST YEAR, by ten slots (thirteen points)......he is the statistical definition of mediocre.

Here is the difference, I have issues with both the offense and the defense.

Our offense sucked cack PERIOD. PERIOD. THEY ****lNG SUCKED. We sucked on 3rd down and we sucked on 4th down and this was all before the 4th quarter. Morris threw 2 more INTERCEPTIONS AND WE SUCKED. WE ****lNG SUCKED ON OFFENSE.

You are too naive to admit that for some reason.

Both teams had 11 possessions each. Yet it is the defenses fault. That our offense can't sustain drives.

Nice non biased balanced perspective you have here lol hilarious

Stephen Morris has been playing through an ankle injury all season, i dont give a **** about passer rating dumb ***, every QB on that list would have below their norm type numbers if they have been hobbling around w/ a bum ankle/Achilles injury all year.

GTFOH.... Yeah Morris has no business being here, you sound so ****n stupid. If Morris wasnt here, your boy Ryan Williams would be the main one you would be bashing all over this site b/c we wouldnt be 7-1 w/o Morris.

like i said i dont give a **** about passer rating, Morris is injured and playing w/ a lot of moxie, and he's the only QB on this roster that gives Miami a chance at finishing the season w/ just 1 loss. When was the last time miami had a 1 loss season..... oh n/m just STFU.

Not getting into this but we didn't suck offensively in the 1st half. Morris and the running game were both in rhythm.

We were bad in the 2nd half.

it's funny how their are so many coaches on this board but nobody knows how to break down stats accurately....

"both teams had 11 possessions each" lol wow

The offense did their jobs, the 11 possessions came after Miami's defense was getting it's *** handed to them w/ a score of 28-14,35-14,38-14. that's when Miami evened out the possessions after the game was already over

Miami's offense sustained drives i just showed u that Miami was converting 50% going into the 2nd half.... the 1st drive of the 2nd half Morris got a sack b/c Wheeler the center playing guard let the blitz run free. That's one failed 3rd down that has nothing to do w/ Morris at all.

.

Let's forget about our differences, here are the facts.

http://espn.go.com/ncf/playbyplay?gameId=333060052&period=0

Drive 1 Miami (FL) at 9:16 (1st Q)

1 for 2 on 3rd Down
0 for 0 on 4th Down

Miami (FL) at 4:21 (1st Q)

1 for 1 on 3rd Down (2 of 3 Overall)
0 for 0 on 4th Down

Miami (FL) at 10:42 (2nd Q)

1 for 2 on 3rd Down (3 of 5 Overall)
0 for 0 on 4th Down

Miami (FL) at 5:08 (2nd Q)

0 for 1 on 3rd Down (3 of 6 Overall)
0 for 0 on 4th Down

Miami (FL) at 2:05 (2nd Q)

0 for 1 on 3rd Down (3 of 7 Overall)
1 for 1 on 4th Down (1 for 1 on 4th Down)

Miami (FL) at 15:00 (3rd Q)

0 for 1 on 3rd Down (3 of 8 Overall)
0 for 0 on 4th Down

Miami (FL) at 3:41 (3rd Q)

0 for 1 on 3rd Down (3 of 9 Overall)
0 for 1 on 4th Down (1 for 2 on 4th Down)

So to review, before the 4th quarter we were 3 of 9 on 3rd down 34% and 1 for 2 on 4th down. That is not 50% overall. That is utter SHlT.

Those are the actual drives, these are not opinions. I am not giving the offense credit because they sucked cack.

Side note: I ******* love Morris, I thought he was going to be a stud. I want this kid to do well because I want us to win.

The facts are we have not been doing well on offense during ACC play. Here is why I am upset....

(4 Games Through ACC Play)

47 Offensive Drives (this includes a few drives where we hold it before halftime or kill the clock to end the game)

12 Punts

10 Turnovers

96 Total Points (actual offensive points from Drives, a pick 6 does not count)

3 Missed FGs (all under 50 yards)

102:05 Time of Total Possession (out of 240 Total Minutes) or 42.5% of the game we're on offense

----------------------------------------------------------------

21% of the time we turn the ball over on offense

25% of the time we punt the ball

THOUGHTS?

there are so many plays Morris left on the field in that short clip its ridiculous. There were about 4 passes where Morris decided to go for the deeper route instead of hitting the wide open cross and seem for an easy 15. I we can get a QB who can go through his progressions and hit the high % throws our offense would be untouchable. FSU had holes open all night in the passing game and their corners were burnt toast on several plays.

LOL yeah sure

I don't get the "LOL". He's 100% right. I'm not a Morris hater, but he struggles with identifying open guys.

naw he's wrong..... the point is no QB is going to be perfect when their offense is on the field for 20 minutes. Make a mistake, dont finish a drive, all that happens w/ every offense for the most part..... the defense is suppose to get the ball back to the offense simple as that.

Jameis Winston wasnt perfect, he didnt have a 100 completion percentage game, he threw 2 interceptions when the game was still close, but it didnt matter he still had the ball for **** near 40 minutes of the entire game.

Stephen Morris missed on some but to say there were "so many plays" morris left on the field is total bs. he made most of the plays he could make under those circumstances, just b/c for example Coley tried to catch a ball w/ 1 hand instead of 2 now thats a bad decision b/c there was somebody more open? lol yeah right, he cant win w/ most of yall, simple as that.

you must be blinded by ignorance. Winston to the high percentage throw all game maybe except 4 total passes. His 2 misreads resulted in poor throws that were intercepted. Winston was able to sustain drives throughout the entire game except on 3 possessions. Morris's misreads cause our drives to stall. We have been very rigid on O for the past 3 years and that has nothing to do with Jedd or Coley, It has to do with our previous and current Qbs lack of reading the defense and identifying the open high % target. Watch the film again. Drags and crossed and seams are there all night. FSU and every other team knows Morris only likes the versicle throw, hence why they always have it covered by 2 or more.
