Stephen Morris vs Florida St

there are so many plays Morris left on the field in that short clip its ridiculous. There were about 4 passes where Morris decided to go for the deeper route instead of hitting the wide open cross and seem for an easy 15. I we can get a QB who can go through his progressions and hit the high % throws our offense would be untouchable. FSU had holes open all night in the passing game and their corners were burnt toast on several plays.

LOL yeah sure

I don't get the "LOL". He's 100% right. I'm not a Morris hater, but he struggles with identifying open guys.

naw he's wrong..... the point is no QB is going to be perfect when their offense is on the field for 20 minutes. Make a mistake, dont finish a drive, all that happens w/ every offense for the most part..... the defense is suppose to get the ball back to the offense simple as that.

Jameis Winston wasnt perfect, he didnt have a 100 completion percentage game, he threw 2 interceptions when the game was still close, but it didnt matter he still had the ball for **** near 40 minutes of the entire game.

Stephen Morris missed on some but to say there were "so many plays" morris left on the field is total bs. he made most of the plays he could make under those circumstances, just b/c for example Coley tried to catch a ball w/ 1 hand instead of 2 now thats a bad decision b/c there was somebody more open? lol yeah right, he cant win w/ most of yall, simple as that.

1st throw: on the money to Walford but he dropped it.... intermediate out route. ( i thought he only could throw deeP)

2nd: quick screen pass to Allen Hurns on 1st down.

3rd: (on 3rd & 3)... good decision to hit Walford "again" for the 1st down. (seems like he can "read" a defense) 1 play and he can read a D? but we lose one game and our D sux? U gotta stay critical on all levels if your going after someone

4th: (on 3rd & 8).... play action miss read by Morris to Coley, shouldve made a better decision w/ the ball.

5th: play action on the money throw w/ perfect "touch" to Allen Hurns for the TD on the go route. First read and Coley did call a play to the middle of the field can u believe it?

6th: (on 3rd & 14)..... checks off his 1st read and hits Allen Hurns "UP THE MIDDLE" for the conversion. (Looks like he can see the middle of the field as well) Coley called another play in the middle of the field but they said he doesnt?

7th: (2nd & 16).... dont like the play but incomplete pass to Allen Hurrns on the quick slant. Terrible throw to much heat on it but i'll lettem slide

8th: (3rd & 16).... deep ball to Stacy Coley who miss read the play, he wouldve caught it for a TD had hit not gave up on the route so early. Senjior to freshmen senior has to throw towards the hash so Coley can adjust not where the opposing team DB is running too. Thats on SM try again

9th: Sacked.... terrible sack on Morris shouldve thrown it away but smart decision to not force the ball into coverage. Hes smart to take a sack but its Doritos fault AQM doesnt get a sack? U credit players u line yourself up with but criticize guys u made your descision on anyway? It was good coverage and he finally didnt thropw it up like he normally does for a pick.

10th: (3rd & 23) under pressure, play was a wash quick pass to Herb Waters for no gain. Play looked broken I think Herb bailed him out, it might of been a hand off but who knows we both dont know but it looks ***ed up.l

11th: Smart decision by Morris to hit Clive Walford up the middle for the 1st down.

12th: Morris under threw the pass to Allen Hurns while under pressure.... bad pass but good decision.

13th: (3rd & 10).... Morris shows toughness and scrambles for 9 yards on the play.

14th: 2 plays later..... Morris in the clutch throws a pass on the money to Allen Hurns on an intermediate slant route in the endzone for TD. If he can make a throw with a guy draped on him he always has guys open then???? am i right???? Rodgers throws his guys open everyone is open for elite qbs which he is not.

2nd Half

15th: 1st play a good pass to Clive Walford on a play action..... short route, another pass that ppl make up and say he cant throw.

16th: Bad throw by Stephen Morris to Herb Waters, also a misread b/c Walford was more open on that play.

17th: Sack on 3rd & 8.... thats what happens when you have a Center playing guard, Jared Wheeler didnt pick up the blitz at all. No wonder B. Linder is back at guard where he shouldve been all alone. smh Coaches fault How about FSU called a great play? and u blame wheeler but u say coached fault?

18th: 28-14 is the score at this point in the 3rd quarter.... Morris tried the deep ball to Coley and it was underthrown and intercepted. Coley should have prevented the DB from intercepting the ball, it's Stacy's fault why the interception happened but it's Morris fault for unusually under throwing a deep ball. Coley was open ball comes late and its under thrown, 6 points off the board the truth is the truth dont try to make it in favor of your guy

19th: 35-14 is the score at this point in the 3rd quarter.... the GAME is OVER. Morris was under pressure and threw the ball away.

20th: Morris hit Walford on a short route to avoid the blitz, smart decision, but Walford kept juggling the ball and couldnt get up field.

21th: Morris tried to hit Stacy Coley on a go route open but Coley didnt try to catch the ball w/ 2 hands and dropped it.... that play wouldve been a TD if it wasnt for the fact that Coley was a lil shook up.

22nd: nice decision to hit Allen hurns underneath, not much yardage on the play though.

23rd: Interception to Clive Walford..... GAME was over and Morris was just trying to make something happen bad decision but it doesnt matter.

ALL in all.... anyone who thinks S. Morris was the main one responsible for losing to FSU is blindly irrational.

An offense and a QB isnt going to be perfect on every snap, every drive, and every possession. If thats the expectations you all have for a QB then i'm sorry but you're going to always be disappointed.

I saw more good throws and good decisions then anything, maybe if the Defense didnt allow FSU to score on every drive in the 3rd quarter Miami wouldve still been in the game in the 4th.

there

If u want to play this game we have a good qb who isnt elite that is why we gotta recruit better at RB. Also stop with the D with most Shannon guys starting. Kudos the AG and the staff for making the D look good all year, thats how u know they can coach IMO.

lol apparently zone is the only one that knows how to form an expert opinion.

That underthrown pick to Coley is about the worst footwork and form I have ever seen from a SENIOR QB. He finishes squarely with his weight behind his plant foot. Rule #1 of what NOT to do.

yeah it's the worst "footwork" you have ever seen from a "SENIOR QB" god knows you have seen them all lol hilarious.

Morris underthrew the deep ball.... when have you ever seen him do that before? since the answer is never, then it's obvious his ankle was becoming a problem before that play i'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

The point is that interception was on Stacy Coley all the way,,,, the pass was underthrown but Coley shouldve played defense on that play, it was an easy interception to prevent he just let the DB catch the ball, simple as that.

The very fact that you're asking a TRUE freshman wide reciever to play defensive back AGAINST a premier defensive back confirms the fact that you're fuggin delusional.

Yes his ankle was hurting him, that was obvious. When injured you have to resort to your fundamentals and make the throws you know you can make ie: the short and intermediate stuff that was available to him all game.

The problem with Morris is one that we all know, he tries to be Superman and make the big play when in fact getting the ball down the field in small chunks more than likely advances the ball down the field. Rather than rely on the playmakers around him, Duke, Warlord, Coley, etc. Stephen feels he's got to Brett Farve everything and make a splash.

16/28 192 yards 57.1 2/2 = Morris
21/29 325 yards 72.4 1/2= winston

This, just watch the video of 2nd pick. Crawford is wide open out of the backfield, easy 20+ yd gain.

Morris footwork is terrible. Either Coley is a clown or Morris is suffering from an injury and mentally not recovered from it. And the underthrow to Coley in the 3rd which resulted in an INT sealed the game.

Naw D'onofrio was terrible the only thing he did good was shut down the bs deep pass.... as far as me trying to make 'my guy" look good lol r u slow.... i was very fair in my breakdown Stacy Coley is my guy too, but he's a freshman and made a number of mistakes in that game i see you picked certain lines to comment on... c'mon whose trying to be biased here me or you.

Coley messed on that TD pass, it was on the outside, Coley went inside and tried to play where the DB was instead of going where the route was intended to go simple as that.

look how stupid u sound.... PJ williams isnt anymore "premier" then Stacy Coley. It's his fault that he allowed Williams to make the interception simple as that. wtf r u even talking about?

nope the 28-14 score and 35-14 score sealed the game..... the defense has to do their jobs to, i thought u knew that about football?

most of Morris's missed throws came when the score was 28-14 and 35-14.

These stats show what, that Jameis can only throw 1 TD/ 2 interceptions and still have the ball for 40 minutes out the game and put up 325 yards of offense. that's all i see.

I'm sorry buddy i know it makes u made but the defense was 90% to blame for that game.
