Stephen Morris NFL Draft hype picking up steam...

E.J. Manuel
Brandon Weeden
Blaine Gabbert
Christian Ponder
Terrelle Pryor
Geno Smith
Jake Locker

He's better then all these *****, Morris is a gamer! I feel like he still has a lot more upside to develop at the next level with proper resources. If we continue to win and keep gaining more exposure he will be just fine. It also only takes one team to fall in love with you and I think he has the interpersonal skills to accomplish so.

What if teddy bridgewater would of stayed?

Teddy has been well developed by his OC at Louisville, we dont know such development would of taken place here.

Look at his freshman vids and his vids now....totally different QB.

However the QB he is now if he played here would mean we can seriously talk of winning the national championship this season.

The NFL draft status thread reminded me of this thread. With only 1 (2 w/ whatever bowl) game to go, it's a fair time to revisit this. The next time will probably be around the scouting combine next year (where I think he'll begin to rise again and you'll hear narratives about the injury, etc.).

Hope he squeezes everything he can out of the big arm and solid size.

Every NFL scout who isn't a blind fan knows that he's better and has much more potential than this disappointing season has shown. This kid is not healthy and whatever the real issue w his ankle/achilles is, he's fought thru it. He took almost 8 seconds to run 4 yards one play against UVA.. We all know he's faster & more mobile than that. He'll get healthy & he'll still get good NFL grades I believe.

Hopefully he can get healthy during bowl week practices and go out w an NC STATE type game when he shook the **** outta that Lb'er and won the game on that pass to Dorsett.

If its that bad then the staff needed to have sat him and played Williams. Nothing else to be said about that.

Bottom line is he has been terrible. I know it ***** up your whole groove if something in your body doesn't work but NFL QB's have to play hurt sometimes and Morris has regressed bigtime this year. Who knows what happened.

Rollercoaster year with him. You never know what your going to get. Made some of the best throws I've seen a Cane QB make, and he turns around and turtles on a blitz, throws one of those high heaters into the cheap seats, or runs out of bounds on a third down. Smh. Maddening.

What if the staff thought a gimp Morris was still better than a healthy Williams? We get too clamoured as fans over a few plays that Ryan Williams had against nobody's earlier this season. We really dont know who he is as a Qb.. playing mop up minutes up by 40+ points is a totally different beast than playing a full game/season. Just saying..

he needs some QB guru to fall in love with his throwing skill set, and believe he can mold him.. Stephen needs a lot of work upstairs.. but I wouldnt be shocked if it can be done

Plenty of mot so smart NFL QBs these days. He won that Manning thing, so he'll probably do well at combine. If he has good bowl game and a little shine at a post season all star game he will move up some. I would think best case, since this year was just bad, is round 3. Big body, big arm, lot of D1 games and the fact that he looked much better under a NFL class OC all are pluses for him. NFL is desparate for QBs.

Morris thrived last year in comeback situations, those were his best games.. he cant manage a game from even or ahead very well

Morris isn't big. He's about 6'1 210 thats below average size for a QB in the NFL.. He will have the best arm at the combine and someone will take him in the 3rd round after that..

williams couldnt have been worse than UNC Morris.

he's looked better under fisch but he still struggled against elite teams then too. the NFL wont be filled w the teams he went on his hot streak against last year (he had 10 tds and 7 picks before the last 4)

Against any decent defense he struggles making his reads. His accuracy is below average and he has a tendency to skip or sail passes wide open receivers. His arm strength is very good which is usually why he's deep ball or bust about half the **** time. He's just not a good all around QB.

The Raiders take him in the first round.

Ain't it great when posters compare dissimilar bodies of work and end up with a conclusion that player A who has been horribly inconsistent and most often inept is somehow better than player B who has seen limited action? This all when week after week player A is typically the worst QB on the field despite the opponent? Is it because of the romance of the long ball a couple of times a game? Don't we all love it to see the bomb go fifty yards to a 1st and goal and then our hero, who was half of what got us there, can't complete a simple roll out and fade to the corner of the end zone, or muscle in a QB sneak behind a pack of behemoths?

Yeah mon, I sure want to give that guy a multimillion dollar contract so he can stand on my sidelines and learn how to play the game! Note: It's been tried, it didn't work.

Let me add that I hope our Senior QB has done well in his chosen major and has a long and fruitful career doing whatever that is. He seems to be a nice kid.

3rd round is not bad at all. I don't really see him going any earlier than that, but I never thought Ponder or Manuel would ever be 1st rounders either.
