Stephen Morris NFL Draft hype picking up steam...

If the Stephen Morris that suited up for the Spring game shows up for 14 games this year... No one is stopping this offense except themselves.

I said this and I mean this. Morris and Miami CAN go 12-0 this year we have the offensive talent. We beat UF and FSU which are the ONLY tough games on schedule then I belive we can go 12-0. Yes I know I'm crazy. But I also believe the defense will take a HUGE step forward this season. We consistently forget how young we were last year and half the games it was really mental breakdowns for us everywhere. We have a ton of athletes on this team just being young and learning the system was the majority of our mistakes. We are bigger with the extra weight lifting and gains that our players have made.

I don't think it was the scheme like everyone else thinks. In 2011 with this scheme we had the #22 total defense. Source: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/footba...=Total&sort=1137&conference=I-A_all&year=2011

We can place a top 50 defense on the field if not THEN I will be disappointed. I still stand by the notion that if we beat FSU and UF that means we are 12-0.

I think Morris already has the most important things down...poise/confidence, pocket awareness and arm strength. One of the hits from the article was his footwork and I'm sure that will improve a lot this year. With improved footwork his accuracy will improve and he will hit a lot more of the shorter routes that he seemed to rush last season. We all know he is capable of a 1st round pick. I hope he goes out and proves to everyone else this season.

Morris has the goods to be a top QB prospect, but I think his WRs and his OLine will leapfrog him into the 1st round next year.

I don't see why he won't improve on his numbers from last year.

If EJ Manuel can be a first rounder............

Still don't understand how buffalo picks him over geno

Lol maybe b/c EJ actually won throughout his cfb ccareer, is almost the build of Cam Newton, while Geno was more hype and a diva.

Regardless i dont understand why so called cane fans on here use the analogy"if so and so got drafted in the 1st..." as if Morris isnt legit???

The best thing that can happen to him is to go under the radar early this season before people really start to pick apart his flaws. However, if he has improved on some of those flaws, it's all good for Stephen and better for us.

Gotta see him under fire to believe it.

Yup. They did a great job masking Jacory's deficiencies but when crunch time came, he would go right back to them. If he's out there thinking about not making his mistakes, that will show through eventually.

Personally I don't care about his NFL potential. I care about his collegiate potential and whatever he can do to get us to the BCS is what I want

With summer film review in full swing, a lot of prominent draftniks are beginning to hype Stephen Morris on Twitter:

Daniel Jeremiah (NFL Network)
Studying Miami QB Stephen Morris…very interesting prospect. Live arm, excellent poise & accurate deep ball thrower.

LULZ at "live arm". He's got a howitzer. He flicked that ball to Dorsett on a line 65 yards to beat NCSU while fading backward. He's got one of the biggest arms in football right now.

As unreal as his arm is, his poise might be his greatest asset. He's got a lot of flaws and makes mistakes, but he never seems to get rattled. Sure he might come up short on execution but its not for lack of guts. Young man has a nice future ahead of him if he stays on the path.

I don't care about any hype. I just want to see Morris finally display some touch. I'm skeptical, since he has not improved in that area since he stepped on campus. George Mira was the same way. He had a roocket arm, no touch, and was somewhat inaccurate. Mira never overcame those deficiencies. Let's hope Morris does. If he does, the upside is almost unlimited.

Good Stuff

SMH. What's that, 65 yards in the air?

Foolish play by Morris. Breaks a defenders ankle...(watch it in slow mo, I think he literally injured the guy)...and then chucks the ball 65 yards downfield on point.

After going through six senior QBs, I've been most impressed with Miami's Stephen Morris. http://bit.ly/18xJfCW

@illmatic940 Ceiling for Morris? >>> Still early but w/ a strong SR season, it wouldn't surprise me if he gets 1st round grades from some

Exhibit A of Morris hype being created outside of Miami.

still early but i really hope he gets it going, i wanna see a big time QB reaping the U in the league

I think losing coach Fisch hurt his development, if Fisch was still here Morris would be a little more surgical this season and sliced up that UF defense.

There was a lotta money on the table for him in this UF game because they have an elite defense with future NFL defenders that scouts can assess his ability against the same way they did Bridgewater. He could of grabbed the 2nd best draft eligible QB spot in this game with a better performance, but didnt improve his stock at all here, may even have hurt it.

I think he has lost some ground and that some of the guys behind him are closing him down, guys like Boyd who has performed well so far this season and improved his draft stock, Murray has also with that huge game against S Carolina. Morris will need sharp outings against FSU and VT to try and get into that first round and hold off the QBs behind him...especially if they keep turning in solid performances against good defenses in big games like they have.
