Started watching VTech games...

They've beaten us 7 of the last 10 games and their D is stellar statistically.

Must win game for us. We need some Boom goes the dynamite on Saturday night.

Logan threw for 4 bills against BC.

Not sure if we want to emulate their gameplan too much.

4 bills, 2 picks.. one which i think went back for 6.. It's certainly a risk reward situation, and we probably will not change our defense at all.. but at some point we have to see how other teams have success against offenses and try to do that.

Cuse blanked wake.. and they didn't do it by sitting back and dropping into coverage. I'd like to think we can adapt our scheme somewhat and do things that other teams are having success with against the same opponents. If BC can hold them to 10 points, then we should have been able to have similar success. I'm not on the fir D'Onof wagon either, but if our players aren't at a place where they can run the scheme as it needs to be, we have to find a way to manufacture pressure in order to have success.

Man, this should be an interesting game for Morris.

They mix and match their zones really well. And, I don't mean on different plays alone. On one side of the field, they play one coverage and on another side they play man or some variation. They stack the box with defenders, but keep 5-6 DBs in the game. They do a lot of cool things with their defensive backfield, which I guess makes sense since they have at least 4-5 future NFL-caliber players there. Along their front, everyone is going upfield hard.

Coach Coley needs to play a huge role here in simplifying Morris' looks/reads. We didn't do anything too complex against FSU, and maybe I'm off here, but I'm more concerned about this defense than FSU's.

Bud Foster is a beast.

VT's offense ranks 107 in rushing, 65 in passing and 102 in points scored. As long as we protect the ball and don't make Special Teams mistakes, we win this game by 14 pts....

They haven't faced Coach Dorito yet. The run will be open, the pass will be open, and the QB draw for a 10 yard jog on 3rd down will be wide open. Don't underestimate Dorito when it comes to making bad QBs look like Heisman winners.

And we think we have problems?

On an unrelated note, Virginia Tech’s kickoff specialist Mitchell Ludwig pulled his quad before Saturday’s game and the Hokies had to make a last-second call for former All-Met Michael Branthover (DeMatha). According to the team’s Twitter account, Branthover was not dressed and in the stands Saturday when the public-address announcer at Lane Stadium paged him during pregame warmups.

Their kicker is 8 of 14. Their leading rusher is their QB who has thrown how many picks in his last two games?

Morris vs VT in his career:

28-61 46%, 372 yards, 3 TD, 3 INT

Inconsistent (there's a big f-cking surprise)

A lot of the bad was from that g-d awful game when he was a true freshman in 2010 though. He was 15-33 for 202 yards with 1 TD and 3 INT that game. Last year he was 13-28 for 170 with 2 TD and 0 INT. Jacory was 13-21 for 277 with 3 TD and 0 INT in 2011 against them.

Last year the Morris and the Canes didn't have a 3rd conversion until the 4th quarter! If that is the case... Miami will lose this year!

But yet they still won 30-12. It was 14-3 quick and we led comfortably most of the game without a 3rd down conversion. Sometimes stats are just stats.

After a big play from Duke on special teams and Logan T threw a terrible pass straight to Gunter Miami was up 14-3... But wasn't it 20-12 and VT was about to score and Thomas dropped the **** snap???

Miami was winning 20-12 going into the 4th! They also had 3 yards in the 3rd and went 1-12 on 3rd downs for the game!

I know that hasn't been the only game where Thomas has self destructed, but it was hardly over!

You act like VT is not capable of having a bad game, or that Logan Thomas is not capable of turning over or giving our offense a short field. I think that's exactly what we're going he's going to do. I don't see how you can make a statement like you made as if it's a fact. VT is just as bad on offense this year as they were last year, possibly worse, and Miami is better on defense. Miami could very well not convert third downs and still won. By the way, Miami could also score 6 touchdowns on the first and second plays of drives, meaning they wouldn't be converting third downs. It's a meaningless stat.

Campanaro got hurt in the first quarter. He was 80% of their passing offense. Their second leading WR got hurt against us and didn't play against SU. That's why SU blanked Wake. We would have blanked Wake too if neither of those guys would have played.

I'm hoping to see us in plenty of heavy formations and unbalanced lines--a lot of ground and pound.

I watched the BC game, and the pick that was run back inside the 15 bounced out of the WRs hands. It wasn't a result of some type of exotic pressure or press coverage. I think the pick 6 came on a screen pass where Thomas refused to throw the ball in the dirt, and put it up for grabs.

And Wake was without its two best WRs against Syracuse.

Bottom line: each game is different.

If Logan Thomas gives us 4 turnovers like he's done each of the last two weeks, we should win comfortably.

Our defense has been making average QBs look all- world since before Dorito.

Our CBs should hold up better than theirs did against Vag Tech's receivers. He threw for a bunch of yards in that game, but the pressure that BC got in his face at times caused him to throw picks.

People think Thomas is a stiff because they don't really watch the games. They're just puppetting what a few people have said, and then it becomes internet truth. If the guy sets his feet and gets in a rhythm he's actually very accurate. And his receivers and TEs are a lot better than people think too.

The game against us was their Super Bowl too. And we ripped their hearts out with that last minute win. I doubt they even showed up mentally for that SU game. People analyze these games like they're played on a computer or something. They forget the human factors.

So its okay for Coach D to allow that to happen?
