Staff may just go all in with Emory now…

Agree, Mateer was the only chance to keep it going like this year.

Now they have to rethink the entire team because there’s a possibility that we become 24 FSU if Emory is the QB and the defense is not fixed. Maybe with a better running game, but still…

A possibility of becoming ‘24 FSU??? LOL.

Step back from the ledge.

You're wrong Bob Griese was a stud QB. He was a College All-American, 2x first team NFL All Pro, 6x Pro Bowler, 1977 NFL TD passing leader, 1978 NFL Completion leader and early in his career the preeminent scrambler in the NFL.
Griese was more game manager at that point. Different era and NFl teams weren’t chucking ball all over the field.

I'm actually surprised Avery Johnson doesn't have any smoke around him... Thought he'd pop into the portal or at least have some talk about him

I like emory, I just don't see how we can be successful - especially early next season with that stretch of games, with such an immobile QB

need someone that can extend plays and drives. Also if he needs to be limited even remotely close to how he was last year then we're in trouble and the season can be over before it starts

I do think there's a floor with the roster and him (7-8 wins), but I think the ceiling with emory is 9-10 wins and that just won't cut it

So a 3rd year qb who spent a year under a heisman candidate will be the same as he was 3 months out of high school?

I said "if"

and is there some correlation between becoming instantly mobile and good because you sat behind a heisman winner?

I don’t see how we think the floor is that high with a much less explosive offense, no sign that the defense will significantly improve, and a much tougher schedule.

I mean I disagree on the defense part, we've already landed 1 very talented safety in the portal, very likely getting Lucas and another corner between the Michigan state or Arizona one

talent level on D is increasing

In terms of less explosive offense - yeah I guess that's fair but it's hard to match #1 offense in the country, we already landed cj Daniels and If we land Concepcion then we have the ability to be a top 5-10 unit with a competent qb
