Pretty much.

If Ward is determined to start give him the 1Q as a goodbye, then play Williams to see what the **** you have at the QB position next year.

It will not matter who our QB is regardless, unless we get a lot better on defense, we will not sniff playoffs or ACC title game.
They need to focus on that side of the ball first

Agreed. Not sure why so many are down on him. He played for a bad Cal team behind a really bad line. He's got 2 years of starting experience. From the area so I assume he isn't gna come with a huge price tag which is good considering the other holes miami needs to fill. I think he'd be a decent stop gap to get to Nickel who is hopefully as good in college as he's looked in HS. If for some reason Emory beats mendoza out then so be it.

Would be such a disappointment. Just like 2017. Thought miami has maybe turned the corner with a foundation to build on but nope...Mario needs to find a way to put together a few double digits win seasons in a row

Definitely. Cam Wards don't grow on trees so we gotta have someone who doesn't turn it over + can make a play or two with his legs. I think Nickel fits that description but would be much better for his development to cook behind the scenes and be unleashed next year. We are in a tough spot.

Nothing to do w development. When a clear and obvious upgrade is available, you gotta try to land him. College rosters are too fluid now to stick w a player because you recruited him from HS. Theres no guarantee any player will be here next year, so you gotta try to go all in every year.

I LOATHE THIS WAY of thinking.

If Cam doesn't play we will get boat raced. If Cam plays we may, may win.

I want to win moreso than I want to see Emory throw 14 passes behind the LOS.

Usually, 1 of the opposing team we play figure out are weakness and then we are in trouble the rest of the year but you have now exposed are weakness before we even play the first game. Delete your post quick before its seen.

I think the majority of the board likes Emory. He seems like a great guy and is obviously tough as ****. If we had a top 20 defense, I'd probably feel okay with rolling him out as the starter tbh. But asking Emory to win games 38-35 or 44-40 like Cam was asked to do is putting him in a spot to fail.

No matter what, the QB room needs a semi proven body or big talent. You cannot role into 2025 with Judd and Nickel behind Emory. If Emory isn't the guy or gets hurt, you have no options behind him.

Agree, these stud Wr’s we recruited and sat for the season must have forgotten everything they learned and did in HS. Seems like everyone thinks they s**k bc we haven’t played them. Are they elite? TBD. But they were good players in HS and could very well be good, if not very good next year. Play them and let the chips fall where they may, before we s**t on them.

Absolutely! Mendoza has the experience to get us to the CFP if we actually shore up our defense and bring in some stud receivers. He also has two years of eligibility while Luke learns the system. This is a no brainer. If Emory transfers then so be it. Many of the folks on here get so emotional about Emory, “ He is a true Cane” “ He gave it his all against FSU” …it’s not personal, it’s business.
