Staff may just go all in with Emory now…

It’s hard to see, but this team is light years ahead of where it was 3 years ago relative to its competition, which is all that counts. Long way to go before we know what this team fully looks like and we still need to add some huge pieces to that abysmal defense. Also, Emory may not end being the starting QB or any good if he is, but his arm is strong enough and he’s a pretty good athlete. Noodle arm and statue don’t apply IMO.

I agree. The disrespect for Emory is amazing.

While loving that Cam is playing in the bowl game, I was hoping to see what Emory could do with our athletes (or not for that matter). Will have to wait for Spring to see him and debate whether it’s a bad defense or good QB showing if he does well.

Wish we would have picked up what seemed like a guarantee, but Mateer chose wrong and others disappeared. Will be interesting if an options opens up in the portal post bowl games/playoffs or after Spring Ball. Still need to add a QB regardless to provide some competition. After seeing Poff in action, I’m glad that he moved on as he didn’t fit that bill. Not sure if Mendoza does either, but with Columbus ties, it could make sense. He looked good against us, but is that another situation of bad defense making the QB look heisman worthy. Time will tell.

A qb with ability to run is paramount if his arm talent isn't elite. I just don't see it with Emory. Maybe we fill more holes on D with quality adds but then we still have to hope MC makes the defensive staff changes and the new guys are good when he's failed om two DC hires. Mendoza is the obvious pivot at qb but I'd circle back to Mensah or someone else with with run element.

Mensah is signed already.

A Cam/Mario combo produced 10 wins. A Emory/Mario combo produces a 7/8 win season. Mateer/Mario is more like 10. Mendoza/Mario maybe 8, ceiling 9..
Agree, Mateer was the only chance to keep it going like this year.

Now they have to rethink the entire team because there’s a possibility that we become 24 FSU if Emory is the QB and the defense is not fixed. Maybe with a better running game, but still…

Our **** mopper head coach could barely scrounge 10 wins with a generational QB, what’s our record when we have a dud like Emory starting?

We might as well give the keys to Nickel and let’s see what he has. If we’re going to start Emory we are truly done for
