Stacy Coley Question

Coley is puttin in work these first few days of camp. Get ready to see him return kicks and play alot.. He's been explosive.

Lets take the orange glasses off for a second. I love our WR core but there isn't a single player mentioned above that has been sooo dominate and polished in his game that the only way to stop him is to double team him. Not to mention that against the 3 best teams we played last year that WR core (offense as a whole) was virtually non existent.

Back on topic: 100 catches is alot of production for any player let alone a freshman. I don't see coley matching that production. However it's not out of the realm of possibility that he matches his impact. Which I think is more important. Someone mention A.Cooper at Bama. He "only" had around 60 catches. But his impact on the offense was huge.

Florida has some outstanding corners, possibly two future first rounders + a more than solid Watkins and Hargreaves. If Miami has trouble getting separation for a few quarters a can definitely see Miami throwing out Coley to see what he can do. Wouldn't that be interesting.

Hey Miami, what are your thoughts on going up against highly touted cornerbacks who are expected to go early in the following year's draft?

Amerson would be the 3rd maybe 4th best corner at Florida (They're that good). He was burned to **** by quicker receivers in the Tennessee game too; and not just the studs, he had white kids beating him on go routes.

I have a lot of confidence in our receivers but that might be the best corner group in the nation, it's going to be a battle. I'm just saying I can see Coley really get a shot if Florida starts to win that battle.

The last time they saw a combination of QB/WR's like ours...they got shredded like old files

I think the UF corners vs Miami receivers battle starts now.

We need UF to think that their corners will shut down nations best WR group and for them to think Miami wr's are average at best.

also I said it many times.

above average QB + a great Oline + average WR's will shred any corner.

you gave the QB enough time any D1 receiver can get open eventually.

plus more time the QB has more running around those corners are doing and getting tired

Purifoy and Roberson?

i get it, but the UF defense as a whole crushes whatever NCST has fielded on defense the last 10 or so years.

Purefoy, Watkins, and Roberson can COME GET SOME.

Good QB/WR play beats good secondary play all day.

Don't underestimate the impact of pass protection. Keep the QB clean and even an average player makes a secondary look pedestrian.

It's a win, win any way you slice it. If Coley plays, it's because he beat out a vet and earned it. If he doesn't, it means that the gets have elevated their game...

So he will be running about 75% on both sides and will need alot of breaks. Bad move, IMO. We shall see how it works out.

Not sure Coley can be covered. But we have a lot of really good WRs. That said, I would not be surprised to see Coley make a couple huge plays early against swamp scum. Dorset is too fast to not have top cover on him. Can't really leave a lb on Duke. Given swamp scum's "great" dbs, I think the figure they can handle the freshman Coley one on one. They are repltiles so if will take his secon long TD beforre they realise one man is not enough. At which time, the store should be unguarded for Lewis, the TEs, Duke, and the rest. If the Oline gives Morris time, swamp scum are in for a long night. I think Coley makes this O almost impossible to stop exxcept with Dline pressure. If Art's boys play as big as they look, we should put some serious numbers up against anyone.

So what does a great qb with the ability to throw it on a line to any part of the field, a great o line, great wide receivers and the best running back in college football do to great corners or a great defense?
Duke won't see many if any stacked 8 man boxes as defenses will be too worried about keeping safeties deep and he's going to run wild.
We run 3 wide with a huge tightends and Duke against nickel coverage that means a linebacker on Duke and Walford/Sandland and 2 safeties deep meaning one wr is getting single covered by a 2nd team corner.
How do you stop that?
I'm sure muschamp and fisher and every other coach we face are more than a little worried right now.

Im looking for a heisman run from Stacy Coley in 2016. He'll be a 3rd year player, likely the #1 receiver target of our returning starter at QB (Kaayolson) and have the media hype commensurate of a top five team.

Coley is the most talented WR on the team. How far he rises up the chart depends on how focused he is. Picking up the playbook, making blocks, mentally staying in the game.

Amari Cooper wasn't a big factor for Alabama until the second half of the season. I'd expect Coley to have the same arc as a Frosh - make some big plays here and there, but get slowly worked into the offense and turn it on by the end of the season.

Watkin's is playing Safety now I think....and penciled in as a starter. I think Coley will start sooner than later...it's going to come down to the playbook for him. He's our most talented reciever.
