Stacy Coley had 4 touchdowns and threw up the U

Attitude aside, if Jedd Fisch is looking to spread it out a bit more then we need kids like Coley, who will put up monster numbers in our system.

I don't know If I could bear to watch Cooper and Coley ending up top 5 receivers in the nation in a few years if Coley's for real.

What exactly is known about his attitude/off the field issues?

And Sammy Watkins....Coley is more talented than Amari imo. Getting these kids is essential to getting Miami back in the top 10. We keep whiffing on kids like this or even passing on them due to charecter issues with a 17 year old high school kid and relying on Hankerson/Streeter/Byrd/Dorsett type guys and we will stay exactly where we have been for the last 10 years.

Streeter and Hank were solid 4 star guys but I get your point and I agree. Those guys shouldn't be our ceiling.

I mean think about it. We put up **** near 600 yards of passing in a game and neither our QB or our WRs are above average. The guys are there to be had so let's do some damage.

Exactly. No disrespect to Hank and Tommy but with Duke,Collins, Sony and Olsen...Surround those kids with AJL/Coley/Lane....Video game numbers and us TRULY back. I am so tired of watching these top kids go elsehwere and us fighting for 6-8 wins. Get em Al, I'm all in.

So is taking plays off the only negative about this kids makeup or is there more to it.

Theres been talk about him arguing with his coaches and getting ****ed about not getting the ball enough. If I was Golden, I tell him I will target him more every game he goes the **** off. Deal?

I really think its grades more than attitude. It almost has to be, even though some have said otherwise.

come om Jerzey, we had great teams then. Did Duke not get targeted his first game a couple times? Did he have to wait and watch James and Clements go off? We scored 9 legit points total vs. notre **** and k-state. We need playmakers and Coley is one of the best in the nation.

Sorry...not how we do it here. There were games where Andre Johnson had to sit back and watch Portis or McGahee go off...and guess what? He did it willingly. If Stacy isn't willing to be apart of the team and to put his own gains aside, he won't be here, and it's really that simple.

People also need to stop shorting the receiving core we just signed. AJL by all accounts is big time. You've all seen Malcolm Lewis and Robert Lockhart just needs a little time to develop. Why take a shot when the 2014 class of receivers is more loaded than the '12 class and Ermon Lane is widely considered to be better than Coley?
Lane is considered better than Coley? I thought Coley was a replica of Sammy.

I wouldn't say widely, but Lanes stock is going up while Coleys is going down. Still two elite talents though.

Coley has been compared to Randy Moss. Has been balling out at safety this year too. Ball hawkin, I dont know who is more talented between him and Lane, but disregard the attitudes and it's at least very close.

There were some people last year saying the same things about Coley that people are saying about Lane.

Difference is Coley is being scrutinized about everything right now so the highlight films aren't all people know about.

That's why I mentioned the stock down thing. It certainly isn't because he is any less talented.

I really don't understand why people don't get this.

If you start making exceptions for Coley, what do you say to a kid like Herb Waters who works his *** off everyday in practice. How do you know that Coley's preparation doesn't fall off because he feels like he's already going to get a certain amount of touches.

Slippery slope my friend. Coley can fall in line right behind Deon Bush and the way Deon handled everything. No exceptions were made for Deon. Deon did what he had to do to get the offer, had no exceptions made for him in camp, then balled out when his opportunity came and is obviously doing what is necessary during the week to stay on the field and continue to make plays.

I don't believe in making exceptions for people. It fosters a certain culture in your locker room. This isn't basketball. You need all 70 guys on the same page and rowing in the same direction.

Look at the teams who are successful in the NFL. Giants, Patriots, 49ers, Steelers, and Packers...it's about the organizational success, not personal accolades or notoriety. If Stacy Coley can't get with the program. Go somewhere else, it's really that simple.

I never said he didnt have to work hard. I said you target him and if he performs, you target him more....pretty simple concept. As far as quaestioning his work ethic, his coach sure doesnt.

"It is sentiments such as those that have prompted Bennett to say that Coley’s personality is his biggest gift.

“Don’t get me wrong — he is head and shoulders above other guys athletically,” Bennett said. “But what makes him special is how much he loves the game and how hard he works.

“Guys with tremendous talent have a tendency not to work as hard as other kids because they don’t have to do that to succeed. But Stacy wants to work.”

Sorry I'm a little behind on his recruitment, but besides living in Broward, has he shown legit interest in Miami in the past because I can think of quite a few reasons to not even lift an eyebrow at that picture in the OP.

Its weird because there was a time he literally said he hated Miami because he was a Florida fan.

But as its gone along he has mentioned being a huge fan of ours for a long time and since Donnell Bennett is his coach it seems to have really helped us along the way.

He definitely has had an odd recruitment to say the least.

Yea I remember that. Early on some people thought he was going to UF after he basically said it was his dream school. Muschamp laid out some 'conditions' for him to meet on and off the field and apparently he didn't meet them. I don't know how true that is because there's so much info. about this kid but that's the word. UF stopped recruiting him but now I'm hearing he's back in the fold but that FSU is the likely destination. Who the **** knows.

Which is an awful comparison. He is 3 or 4 inches shorter and nowhere near as fast. Randy Moss is an once in a lifetime talent.

We just aren't in a position to pass on elite talent, regardless of grades or attitude issues.

With some of the reports coming out about players skipping practices, team meetings and everything thing else, I say we don't need another kid that needs a babysitter. Can't pass on kids because of grades? If a kid can't get in, they can't get in. If Coley gets his act together and makes the grades, I am all for taking him. But how many times have we seen great talent get wasted because the kid couldn't get out of their own way?

Monday morning on Joe Rose show, Golden responded when Joe asked him whether the coaches had to spend time "baby sitting" players: Too much. We are doing too much baby sitting right now. (paraphrasing). This is not a good thing.
Team doesn't need more players who need baby sitting. If that is the case with Mr. Coley
