Stacy Coley had 4 touchdowns and threw up the U

We just aren't in a position to pass on elite talent, regardless of grades or attitude issues.

exactly right, if we do pass....we should get used to 6-6 or 7-5

Hey I want Coley too but come on now. He isn't going to break this class.

I'm not saying him by himself would. I am saying if we don't take any kids with attitude problems/grade concerns/charecter flaws....etc.

I hear ya. I think Golden has already shown that he is willing to take some risks.

Thing about Coley though is no one seems to know the truth or the while story, no one talking anyway. Gonna be interesting.

I love Coley's film and would love for him to be in this class,

However, I can tell some of you have never hung out with college athletes. I went to a JuCo and partied with a kid that was the #3 rated SS coming out of HS, and a "lock" for the MLB

The kid was cool, however, his teammates would admit he was cancer on the team. It's easy to look at a kids film and say Golden's an idiot for not offering... But 3 years down the line, I can see the same people saying "glad we stayed away from that guy"

Btw, that kid never finished college, and doesn't play ball anywhere. He was a "me" player, and it killed not only his career, but the teammates he influenced to also be "me" players.

We're 4-4 not because Al is having to babysit, but because we don't have talent. I guarantee you that if we're winning games, Al doesn't have a problem babysitting a few kids.

I understand arguments against Coley - and they're valid - but, if the boards are right and this kid is a high level talent, you bring him in and hope that you can mold him into a good citizen.

It's bad enough we will have to watch Amari Cooper in the NFL, a **** NW Bull. We can not lose any more of these talent

You're acting like the staff didn't recruit Cooper

The fact is every program loses kids in their backyard.

USC has let two top 5 talents (Thomas and Armstead) flip to Oregon

Oklahoma is able to go into UT territory and steal one or a few

FSU was able to go into Alabama last year and grab 4 top 10 guys from Alabama and Auburn.

It's the nature of the game... Some kids will get away. Let's stop acting like we're the only school getting pickpocketed

He was not just a local kid, He was a MIAMI Northwestern Bull, OUR PIPELINE School, at a position of great need, and is an elite player. USC/Bama/Texas got 5 star talent to back up what they lost, we don’t winkster, that’s my point.

If he was an elitist STA kid I could see one leaping ship from time to time, but MNW, ***** please, we got robbed, in broad daylight, at the food court…..

I tend to agree with you, but we aren't really recruiting Coley which leads me to believe there are some major character concerns.

If the player leadership is solid, they should have no problem keeping Coley in check and holding him accountable. Guys like Howard, Perryman, EJ, Morris, Linder, Feliciano, Chickillo, Bush.

Best case scenario? All American
Worst case scenario? Latwan or Jamal Reid.

I'd say take a chance and give the boot if he doesn't fit. It's not like the kid has a contract. He has free education, room and board, and basically at least a 3 year training camp for the next level.

Grades has been brought up numerous times with Coley. I think some of you are neglecting that there might be more to that.

Also Coley is very talented (probably the best WR in state) but not a can't-miss 5* like some make him out to be. His attitude issues manifest themselves on the field too much for my tastes. He doesn't do the consistent things that coaches demand out of receivers: run good routes, block, fight for the ball, etc. Even if Coley wasn't a grade concern or a locker-room cancer I still wouldn't want him because he's a risk to leave his teammates out to dry on the field (ex. QB throws to a spot, Coley's not there). I don't think it's fair to treat this as an "all-or-nothing" risk because there's a middle ground that could be worse. The staff is doing the right thing by saving themselves the risk and recruiting other players with that scholarship.

IMO it's ridiculous that our fanbase is talking about this kid non-stop and making sweeping generalizations like "we have to take every talented kid from South Florida no matter what" when Jordan Cunningham isn't that inferior a talent and still takes care of business on and off the field with no questions asked. We should be debating whether Cunningham deserves a spot in this class, not Coley.

Who believes that Cunningham isn't "that" inferior a talent? I dunno anyone else who thinks that. Most that i've read on here think there is a SIZABLE difference in talent/potential between the two, AFAIK.
