Spring Depth chart

Dude, you retards know how much the two deep changes form start of spring to game 1? This is based off of utough and off season training. The only things that matter here are the position changes as they might stick going into the fall.

Why would you bother posting an ITU depth chart when the school just released one? McDermott isn't playing in the spring, Wheeler is starting at center.

McCord at LB....I don't know about that.

What do you mean? We haven't had a defensive end that could rush the passer in 3 years, but now that we have one the logical thing is to move his *** to some new position, obv.

/I get that depth charts are relatively insignificant

I like the McCord move. I always wanted him to play LB. His sideline to sideline speed is really good. He is extremely athletic. His future in the NFL is at OLB in a 3-4 defense. The coaches probably don't see him adding enough weight to be a every down DE. And he is too athletic to just have him on the field on 3rd down. Jmo.

Mark my words: four years from now we will look back and say that Alex Figueroa was one of the stars of this class. He's already up to 231 and is obviously putting in work. He has the size, athleticism and aggression to be a stud SAM.

LOL... However.. take these Depth charts with a grain of salt. I'd be more concern of the Depth chart AFTER spring ball.

JC

Agreed. I fully expect to see Beau on top of the TE position when we hit the homo's in orange and blue.

Y'all do know that this entire depth chart is based on how much work you did or didn't do in UTOUGH right?

Every year people need to be told the pre-Spring depth chart is strictly based on off-season workout/U-Tough performances.

This. Combined with the injuries/suspensions, this chart is meaningless (aside fr/ position changes).

I wouldn't say that it's meaningless, because I must say that I'm a little disappointed that Bush got outworked by Highsmith.

Highsmith is one of the teams hardest workers, but that wont be good enough come game time. That is going to Bush

Hope McCord to LB isn't permanent. There's been plenty of 240 De's to wreak havoc recently. It could just be numbers related with Armbrister, Terry and Johnson out for spring as of now.

We get that it's based on offseason workouts, but dammit we need something to talk about!

"Tyriq McCord is going to look a lot different at 245 than he does today at 215." -Golden

He's at 236 now. Maybe they think he's a hard gainer and had to make the switch

If Porter doesn't burst into flames like a turned over car in a movie by the UF game, I don't hate him and Pierre as a combo. But behind them is nothing.

End is atrocious. We might have to tell the secondary good luck and send backers A LOT or we're going to go back to every QB lighting us up for 400 yards a game.

Agreed - but without seeing the workouts and such first hand, we have no way to get a true feel of how far ahead or far behind someone was with workouts. Plus, Golden could be making some of these decisions to motivate different members of the team.

I think we will know a lot more after a few days of practice when Golden can comment on the progress (or lack thereof) of certain players.
