That or Candle turned down Mario early yesterday and he then offered Briles yesterday. Something feels off though.

Did the author of the article say Candle was a coordinator from Toledo? Because what I saw described Candle as the Head Coach at Toledo, which Susan Miller Degnan helpfully confirmed.

12 PM Update. Much of the same from them. Arky 247 is reporting that:

- Briles has an offer from Miami
- Briles is likely to stay put, as he's been moving all around the past 5 years and his family really wants him to stay put. The family also allegedly loves Fayettville.
- If our offer is 500k or so more than what Arky will raise him to, then he may leave (this is unlikely imo)
- We should know soon

It sounds like Miami would have no problem outbidding Arkansas by $500k. @JayCane20 said Candle was offered +$2M.

You forgot that they mentioned that northwest Arkansas is higher on the "livability index" than Miami lol

We’ll see. Arky’s DC Odom makes 1.75m. Briles makes 1m, but they’re allegedly making gonna bump him to 1.3/1.4m.

Seems like we offered Candle 1.6-1.8m. 1.8-2m might land us Briles but Arky could also bump him into Odom range. Idk how high they’re prepared to go, but based on Odom they can go pretty high.

I’m not going to worry unless things don’t clear up by signing day or shortly after. This man has been an animal on the trail since he got here and the results reflect that. Mario has had some inclination that he would be the UM head coach since October, he doesn’t leave Oregon without a plan in place.
