Some names to watch before it’s deleted

Candle and Briles are the only coordinator names that leaked. Apparently, both had discussions with Mario/UM. Only one received an offer (allegedly).

Who is the next candidate to be the subject of legitimate smoke? By "smoke" I mean verified by a reputable third-party?

Any guesses?
We will know in the next month, I guess

Why month? This should be over within a week, I would guess. Unless Dorsey really is the guy and Buffalo stretches out their post-season run. And as everyone has noted, Dorsey will probably have OC offers in the NFL waiting for him.

For the new Miami fans, Don James, a Miami grad and then passing record holder in 52-53, was the Kent State coach from 1971-74 and won their only MAC title. While there, he coached Jack Lambert, Nick Saban, and Gary Pinkel. He then went o Washington, for 18 years with success and won the National Championship in 1991. He is in both the Miami and College Football Halls of Fame.
Gary Pinkel was one of the most underrated coaches. Mizzou legend

I'm sorry, are you suggesting those of us who were not following Miami in the 1950s are new fans :)

THE FVCK YOU SAY ABOUT THE 1991 NC??

It isn’t Dorsey either. He’s following Daboll to the Dolphins.

I hope it's Brian Daboll. Brian was our OC for the '17" championship, and he was a great schemer of the ball and had Tua playing at a high level even as a true freshman. I think we win the title again in '18' if he stays. Looking at what the Dolphins have they need an offensive mind badly.

Maybe waiting so long wasn’t such a great idea after-all...

IF, big IF, Briles has an offer...

The fact that he hasn't hopped on the offer means he wants to hear what Arky will give him. So, as has been reported, he probably wants to stay there.

Just make a fvckin hire. We’re going into elite prospect weekend without coordinators?

Only dullards would propose he “just make a fvckin hire“ - that’s a recipe for disaster.

Do you think we should just hire someone quickly so we will have somebody for elite prospect weekend?

Hiring the wrong guy is going to have a much worse impact on the program than losing out on one or two recruits in a transition class - recruits that are by no means guaranteed even if he does hire a coach beforehand.

All I'm going to say is Mario better nail these hires for how long this is taking. I understand he's methodical but this is getting absolutely ridiculous.
I think LSU and UF still haven't hired coordinators right? well at least UF hasn't

If you really think about it for a second, Jason Candle probably made the least amount of sense of most of the rumored names that have been mentioned...

Dude was born & raised in Ohio, played & coached in Ohio for his entire career & is the HC of a G5 team less than 2 hours away from his hometown, not to mention, the man is nearly 20 games above .500 with a 60% winning percentage as a Head Coach...

Why TF would he leave all that to come to Miami to be a coordinator? That’s literally a demotion lol.
