Don’t know enough about him to say. Can’t imagine winning as much as he did at D3 without bringing guys in.. but there’s no scholarships at that level so it’s different.**** bring Candle as OC & bring him as DC lol. Does the DC dude like recruiting?
He turned Napier down a few weeks back before his raise. Getting him from ND and UF would be a major coup.We are battling ND for Belk
They went home and stayed local. No different than Tyrique, Ladson, Parrish, Lichtenstein, etc coming back to Miami. So funny if it is Mason after they took multiple targets for us on defense and would be left without a DC. Jayson Jones and DJ James whoops!
The guy is A CURRENT head coach!!!!
Do you expect an up and coming OC at G5 to take a WR position job at a P5 school. just for more money? NO!!!
I don't see how think a head coach who has a job is going to leave his job for a 2 year demotion just for more money.
A lot of hypocracy going on. People always saying they want experienced coaches. Would it be wise for a head coach to take a demotion as an OC or to continue building his head coaching resume if he wants a P5 job.
It's just like an OC quiting his job to become a position coach. It doesn't make sense. You only take a demotion when you get fired and there aren't other OC opportunities available. Same goes for the head coach.
someone also stated that mario and candle share the same agent. not sure if that's been confirmed or not but that would definitely be a catalyst to put this into motionAll the weird Miami links with Candle:
Coach Kul is assistant DC and linebackers coach. He is a Toledo alum and seems like the next HC if Candle bolts.
Kevin Beard is WR coach.
Robert Weiner is the OC of two years. Was Plant coach for 16 years and coached Aaron Murray and Robert Marve, among others.
No way to tell unless you have api access to Twitter, cause they removed that feature a couple years agoNot a coincidence if it ain’t recent
Great place to live. Hard to cast a line without catching a snook in Tampa these days.I just interviewed for a job in Tampa. Trying to get down there by May hopefully. Fished for snook down there a few times out of the Ruskin area
He does not and would be calling Freeman’s DDoes Belk have any connections to Freeman at ND? Hopefully Mario's experience working with him would push us over the top
And this is why his seat is warm as a HC but would be a stellar OC hire. What do you mean by "downward trajectory"? His team's overall record on the field? Because it **** sure isn't about putting points on the board and racking up yards, which is what he's being asked to do here.

And this is with Toledo's personnel...if you're not excited by this type of potential, idk what else you want.

Guy wants to look at title only, not consider the dozens of factors that can go into a decision. In addition to what you brought up, will the new AD like him? Is he happy as HC there? Does his family want to move? Is he just ready for a change of scenery? Does he want a better salary? Why is he not getting bites as a P5 coach? What could he accomplish with TVD in a down ACC? Does HE think Miami OC a demotion over Toledo HC? Etc, etc, etc.Do you know the makeup of Toledo? Maybe they were a senior heavy team this year and about to go into a rebuild next season and he can see the writing on the wall. Get an OC job at a P5 program, ball out a year or 2 and get poached for a P5 HC gig. If he knows his team wont be good next year and he gets fired, you think a P5 comes in and gets him or he has to go to another HC gig at G5 or coordinator P5, it be the same boat?
Like why did Riley leave a top 4 playoff contender in Oklahoma to go to unranked USC?
Money? Ease of not having to be in SEC? Wanted a change of scenery? Realized his team would not be as good next year?
