It doesn't change the fact that it makes little to no sense for a head coach who has a job to take a demotion regardless of the amount of money. He just needs to win at his current school and he'll have a P5 job just like Matt Campbell did.

You may lose people, but do you take a guy that you could only have 1 year?

Like I said, from Candle's perspective, does it make sense to move your family when you know your going to move again in 2 years or less to be a head coach again?

Wow my head hurts catching up on this thread. Don’t people read before making irrational posts?? Several mentioned why it would make sense for Candle to make the move. An article was shared yesterday from the local paper about why he is on hot seat.

As mentioned before, Enos left MAC for P5 OC and Pete Lembo left MAC for P5 position coach. It’s not unheard of.

It’s actually just a one guy replying as irrational over and over again it’s just hard to tell because there’s so much of it

Take it for someone who was born and raised in Toledo - the best view is in the rearview mirror. Great people, salt of the earth, friends who would lay down in traffic you, decent art museum and zoo, Cedar Point. That is it. My nightmare would be moving back there. There is no comparison between South Florida and Northwest, Ohio.

If he wants to be a P5 head coach its not going to be coming from Toledo or else he would have gotten one by now. Its more likely that he is looking for another job if Toledo has another year like the last few. He probably sees the writing on the wall and figures having a successful offense in Miami can lead him to a potential mid-level P5 job.

Also, I don't care what his HC record is at Toledo. We are not hiring him to be HC.

This! I resigned as president of a low tier adtech company to become CRO of a mid tier adtech company so that in a few years of wrecking ****, I can be the president/CEO of a mid tier or top tier ad tech company.
