Rumor has it this guy is the next offer for OC

Were they?

I know he was pass-game coordinator there and I thought he had a hand in calling the pass plays. He definitely had a hand in implementing the scheme and gameplanning, so he owns some of those numbers.

Nevertheless, if he's only called plays for one year, still a huge step down from Briles/Candle. The results were nothing special. If he's a one-year playcaller, he's got minimal experience and no record of impressive results.

Who has he learned under?
He didn’t call plays. Pass game coordinators just draw up concepts and help gameplan. Learned under Satterfield.

I honestly don't know what F+ is, but they were 22nd this year in scoring points. He was only the playcaller this year.

it’s a combination of the two most regarded analytic models, FEI and S&P+, hence the name F+

I’m not so sure he is going to get an NFL OC job in this group of openings. If he does he needs to be very careful about choosing. If he gets dealt a terrible qb and set up for failure, NFL GMs will be much more hesitant to give him a 3rd shot. Coming here and rebuilding his brand with a high octane offense could net him a better NFL gig in 2 years than the one he MAY get this go around.

I don't think he is. Maybe they bring him on in some sort of assistant...but I don't foresee him getting a pro OC gig.

If the idea was to eventually circle back after he has his other offers on the table, I'd say we're at degree 355 and its time to circle back.

I'm not sure thoroughness in the hiring process is the problem, and I haven't really seen or heard anything to convince me he's spending all of this time evaluating assistant coaching prospects. And if he's not, maybe he should be.

But I think there is a good chance Mario has purposefully decided to spend the majority of his waking hours evaluating his roster and recruiting players. At his core, he knows the Jimmys and Joe's matter more than the Xs and Os. Of course, if that is what is happening, then it is fair to debate whether he has his priorities straight.
On the surface his biggest priority seems to be fixing the future playing roster? I, like everyone else though, am anxious to know who the coaching staff is. Time will tell on both issues.
