We got this bruh it's a huge loss but Mario hires elite recruiters. He should of never honored his word and went for Raymond though in hindsight.
Maybe I’m in the minority here and I have no inside info but I’m not buying the Raymond stuff

I’m sure conversations were had but I don’t think it’s that cut and dry

Either way you’re right we will be fine. TRob is legit but there’s lots of legit people out there when you’re willing to spend money

over t rob. more concerned with who our OC will be. we have a ready made QB and a young offense just need the right OC and don't give me frank ponce for ***** sake.

Have the results been bad? They were 22nd in scoring offense this year despite playing at an average pace.
The advanced analytics show pretty average results. Here's the F+ ratings for every year he's been a coordinator (except 2013, couldn't find those).

2014: 72nd
2015: 44th
2016: 68th
2017: 69th
2018: 60th
2021: 51st

Those are pretty unimpressive results. 1 top 50 offense in 6 years as a coordinator. Has never broken 44th. Huge step down from Candle/Briles imo.

Is he a legit candidate?

Would be a good hire honestly.
- must be locked up in the film room all week with one day yard privileges to help install plays
- on game day he is only allowed in the booth with his headset (which will be recorded and reviewed for quality assurance purposes)
- will have no contact with recruits or input on our big board
- no pregame/halftime/or postgame interviews with media
- zero access to social media
- wife has zero access to team

uh-oh....
I have no info on Ponce. Zero. Don't worry about reading into anything.

Just think it's weird that people are saying he has "bad results" when Appalachian State scored a bunch of points with him as the playcaller. That offense is very hard to defend. According to someone on our old defensive staff, it was the hardest offense to prepare for (App. State and Louisville).

Personally, I want someone with a longer track record of playcalling. But I suspect the perception of Ponce as a lazy hire is because he's Hispanic (Nicaraguan, not Cuban) from Miami.

I honestly don't know what F+ is, but they were 22nd this year in scoring points. He was only the playcaller this year.

Non-negotiable.

Lol those are Satterfield numbers. He had the OC title but didn’t call the plays. Like Thomas Brown during his time at Miami. Ponce left Louisville to call plays at App State. He produced at top 30 offense with the bad qb.

Part of the problem is our own beat writers and site reporters clearly have no sources so they jump on the bandwagon of whatever national reporter they like… thus the perception of us continues to get drug through the mud as conflicting reports pop up.

Notice the Bama sites still don’t have a story about t rob other than they might hire him? I wish we could teach our guys to shut their computers down if they don’t know, would save everyone a lot of frustration.

Then again we’re almost to 1000 so **** it, keep going this is fun.

BAMA fans knew about it last night. Our perspective of the hire would have a little different twist. This guy is a barner player and coached there a while. But that's been SOP under coach Saban.

Coach Saban isn't keeping anyone informed before he's ready to push the button on a coach, so we just sit back and mostly watch this time of year. We are used to it and Mario looks like he has the same program.
