Just think it's weird that people are saying he has "bad results" when Appalachian State scored a bunch of points with him as the playcaller. That offense is very hard to defend. According to someone on our old defensive staff, it was the hardest offense to prepare for (App. State and Louisville).

Personally, I want someone with a longer track record of playcalling. But I suspect the perception of Ponce as a lazy hire is because he's Hispanic (Nicaraguan, not Cuban) from Miami.

You think the sole reason people are opposed to hiring Ponce is because he's a Hispanic from Miami? You don't think it has anything to do with the fact that we allegedly have somewhere between $1.5-2M to spend on a coordinator and people don't want to spend that money on a guy who:
(1) has no track-record of success,
(2) has called one mediocre offense on the G5 level (if you're looking at the advanced stats),
(3) co-coordinated 6 unimpressive offenses, and
(4) wasn't necessarily mentored by a guy who blows you away with his offenses (Satterfield)?

Hmm... i'm not buying it.

They had by far the best WR unit and RB in the SBC, and one of the best OLs.

The idea that Brice was so bad relative to SBC QBs that they couldn’t do something with that, is something we are telling ourselves to feel better.

Marios interview process is basically cut from the Patriot mold, he will find someone who coaches and is elite at recruiting. he will make sure they have the personality to recruit kids. No one wants a Rumph type persona that **** dont work with recruits. I remember seeing MR first interview and my reply was hes not going to be able to recruit at all. I knew immediately we were fuqed. As a parent I knew i wouldnt send my kid to play for that guy.
