I'm not going to respond anymore to all the irrational comments.

It's clear thst people are incapable of of thought and dialog without it being all about Miami. It isn't. Apply what I said to any other school.

If Candle was quiting his job to the OC at FSU, you'd say he's a fool.

He's going to be a P5 head coach if he wins in his league. The MAC is the farm for P5 coaches.

So, it would only make sense to leave if you don't believe you can win or you have issues with the administration.

Good. Cause, frfr...

That's not impossible, but the fact that it's a new AD might come into play. Imagine Candle going into his office and saying I have to seriously consider some of the offers I've been given and having the AD tell you, good luck, we were considering moving in a different direction next season anyway.
If that we're to happen it would be after the 2022 season. The new AD is not going to disrupt the program a few weeks from Spring Ball. That would be a disaster and who would he hire now. It's late in the 4th quarter a d there's very few coaches on the open market.

The thing thst kills me is thet people act like I don't like Candle. I do. I just don't think the move makes sense for him.

NO!!! Out of context. Lashlee was an OC not a HC and had never been a HC. So, thst was a move up, not a move down. Totally different.
You might as well just have your pick of these GIFs below and save yourself and us from the ridiculous back and forth banter since there is no reasoning with you and you’re undefeated

He has coached in two places in twenty years of cfb coaching. Very rare. Additionally, his kids are barely old enough to attend school so that is one less consideration for his family.

Now is a good time to make a move like this.

If he's was getting fired, he would have been fired already, so it's not even a point to make.

Secondly, this fan base is so irrational. If this discussion weren't involving Miami, then people wouldn't try to make an argument and would just agree that it doesn't make sense for a G5 coach (who has a job) to leave his job and become an OC. He has experience as a head coach. If he wins MAC title, he'll have a P5 head coa h job next year.

In the end, this may all be a ploy to get a new contract and pay raise.
In 2015 Dan Enos resigned from his HC position at Central Michigan to take the OC job at Arkansas. It's not unprecedented.

You’re right, maybe it is a contract ploy. But that doesn’t usually work when you are performing below expectations. He may come, he may not, but it’s not as ludicrous as you think.

Since you are so confident it’s not going to happen, you willing to take a self ban if he is indeed the OC hire?
And there’s supposedly a new AD coming in so there’s no way the current AD would probably be able to offer a new contract anyway.

It doesn't change the fact that it makes little to no sense for a head coach who has a job to take a demotion regardless of the amount of money. He just needs to win at his current school and he'll have a P5 job just like Matt Campbell did.

You may lose people, but do you take a guy that you could only have 1 year?

Like I said, from Candle's perspective, does it make sense to move your family when you know your going to move again in 2 years or less to be a head coach again?
Think we got your point the first 100x you said it.
now feel free to not completely spam the thread.

thanks for your analysis 🧐🙄

Would it though? This would give them perfect cover to name the DC as the HC on a one year trial and see if he's worth a longer contract. It would also give them time to find the perfect candidate and cover for an underwhelming season.

It makes more sense for Candle than a lot of other G5 coaches. In any case, we should know before long.

I don't care why he makes the move (if he does). Whether it's $, location, opportunity, he thinks he's going to get fired and wants to take a premium OC job now vs. waiting.

This would be an epic pull by Mario getting a current G5 HC to be his OC. Now that doesn't guarantee success, but backs up everything we heard since Manny was canned that we are taking this seriously now.
I'm not looking for an epic pull because the guy is a HC. That feels too much like Manny pulling an assistant from Alabama's staff. You know, "Where's Dan?" and all.

This guy might be a great hire, but I refuse to get excited just because he's a HC with what appears to be a downward trajectory. All I want to know is will his O work at Miami? The whole, "Mario pulled in a current HC to be his OC" does nothing for me. Bring me the best offensive mind out there, regardless of their current position. Is this guy the best, or is he simply the one with the highest current position?

Like others have said, his new AD might be wanting to go a different direction. Why? Because the results have been slipping at Toledo.

Eh idk he’s been mainly a db coach and played cb when he was in college.
I’m confused… if my title is lead project manager for a small company and I take an assistant project manager at GE that pays twice as much what person would call that a demotion?

Especially when at the latter job you also pick up a network of new talent that you may exploit the next time you're a lead who needs to staff a project.

As usual, you’re making a helluva lot of assumptions. You have no idea what Candle’s, or anyone else’s for that matter, thought process is. There’s a multitude of variables and situations that you, I, or anyone else has absolutely no idea about.
