Can't be much worse than that.
Seems my concerns were legit
Can't be much worse than that.
You must not understand the dynamics of inner city coaching and how ALL these guys have coached together, regardless of rivalries these guys all know eachother. COACH ICE was like an ambassador for the U. Just wait til somebody put a mic in Luke face, laff. Ice is a miami guy, if he said it was a done deal, its done. Go check the history with BTW guys, they do the same play from the playbook every year, play the game wait til signing day, announce for the U. Harris jr slipped one time and said they do it to get as many coaches thru the door to get some other players shine, These coaches all about getting as many kids into college. You cant do something like this last second and not expect a huge backlash. Every critic gonna be out wanting a piece.
This is what you call BAD BUSINESS. smh
The **** you gonna call it bad business when you don't even know what the business is?
When Ice is telling the local Paper its messed up, Believe its bad business. If it was gatewood, whatever. Ice? Comeon, I never go overboard with one kid or anything like that but you dont think this looks bad?
I'm saying it just doesn't make sense to be so blunt about it when we have nothing concrete. You're basically talking about this massive ripple effect when we don't even know how big the rock was.
Golden has shown that he understands what the local schools mean. To think he would **** on that is insanity.
If he did or didnt isnt the problem, guys like Ice carry alot of weight in the city. If he feels wronged then you look at our commit list with every olineman a project from out of state its not a good look. AT ALL. This aint a coach to go off the cuff like that, for Ice to speak like that, smh.
So why would the coaches feelings on Thomas have anything to do with Kirkland?
From Pete's post:
Without going into detail, Miami has been worried over the last week about Thomas wanting out of town, and the "dropping" of Kirkland is likely related to Thomas' situation.
Is Golden just telling BTW to kick rocks?
I have no answer there man. But if Thomas didn't exists I would bet we would still be on Kirkland or would have anyway. He's really good.
I would have though the same 20 minutes ago. Now I'm not so sure.
Fair enough. I got nothing. You could very well be right of course
Either that or these kids wanted cash. Weird line to drop in that post.
Either way this is a horrible play by Golden. It's a joke. It's fine to do this to Kerr or the other TE from Tampa but to pull this **** to a stud at a local powerhouse like BTW. Why the **** did we hire Coley then? To miss out on guys like Kirkland and 6. It just looks horrible to have the most respected HS coach in Miami, ICE saying he can't trust UM in our local paper. It's a flat out huge **** up by Golden. No way to sugarcoat it.

Why is it that every time we lose out on a kid, it's always the "he got paid" excuse? It really gets old.
Then again, reading these posts for the last few days on how we would basically get the top 6 kids on Pete's list I thought was amusing. Year after year, we see how these 18 yr old's change their minds at the drop of a hat. I've been waiting to see our fan base reaction if we were to lose out on any kid...based on this thread alone, now I've seen it.
Can somebody tell me whats going on? Is it grades or scholarships? Cause Ice said he has a 2.8 and passing score.
lol to all of the homers on here expecting us to get everyone and just "waiting to see the faces and posts of fsu fans when we get everyone in SoFla"...seems like the things may be coming to light.
Considering sanctions and no current ranking Miami will still have a good class, not a great class but a solid good class...Collins and a stud DT are a must though and will def. sting missing on one or both.
Ice told ESPN that we got a silent commitment from a D lineman today.. And that took DK's spot
