Hypothetically speaking, if he chooses ATM or UGA what would you point to in being the biggest determining factor?

Can’t be bags since we know we’re dropping bags nowadays.
People just have wanderlust. The world is bigger than SoFL.

Much bigger.

And people want to see it.

It would be weird to not want to explore.

College Station TX isn’t actually a walkabout Europe lol
No but there's a ton of people that live, work and go to school there and they seem to be fine with it... You'll never know what you like in life if you don't go anywhere to experience it... I might not enjoy it or you might not either but that has nothing to do with what the next guy or girl likes...

Totally agree about football first decision and that brings me back to the original point. ATM has had Jimbo since 2018. This will be his 4th recruiting class. What has he shown with the other 3? I did make the caveat that he plays in the SEC and that we have been dogsh1t ourselves, but do you really believe that they are blowing the doors off of college football at ATM? He had a good college qb at FSU (among other studs that he recruited) and they won at the right time and fell off of the map. People point to his wife ******** around on him as the driver for the drop off but wouldn’t that make a champion coach more motivated to show her up and keep up the winner attitude?

Instead he folded like a pancake and headed out of town in the cover of night and ATM paid him a ransom to get him there. And what has he done with it? He has recruited well again and what has he done with it? I can appreciate that it took Kirby 5 or 6 years to win a title, but he was in CFP nearly every year. Jimbo is on a slower start if it is going to happen. I personally don’t think that he turns the corner on this and that Shemar would be making a big mistake going there.
They finished top 5 in 2020 and had a QB injured this last year but beat Bama

I don’t understand why people discredit this… kids love going away for college, even if it’s the middle of nowhere. Sometimes city kids even like the change of pace.
It’s strange. They keep telling me there is no way a sfl goes there but he loved it there before numbers were discussed. And now his home can discuss big numbers and he still likes it there. Everyone is different

Time to close Mario
A&M has at least a year of working on Stewart, bags, and Jimbo is a monster recruiter. Mario may lose this battle by default. Hard to make up that ground in 2 months. Next year, it will be a different story.

That being said, something tells me he wants to be a Cane. Idk if he commits but i say he ends his career as a Cane.

Feels like most people are just regurgitating old articles that aren't even from Shemar's mouth. There's been zero new info from the past couple of weeks. It's all the same (wants to know our DC, wants to play edge, etc.). Getting Shemar on campus this weekend is why Mario is considered one of the best in the country. Shemar is uncommitted and will be on our campus for 48 hours before the final dead period. What else could you want? He might go elsewhere but Mario getting the last OV will be great for us more times than not.

If the administration moved more quickly by terminating Manny earlier I believe some of these recruiting problems may not have occurred. This will all pass but Mario was dealt a tough hand. I'm for one not impressed with Jimbo Fisher. He became a wealthy man because of Dalvin Cook and Crablegs. You certainly can be a great recruiter if you load up bags of money on almost every recruit.

I think everybody on this board is totally speculating and no one truly knows including Shemar and Ivins. He still has to weigh his options and see what Mario says this weekend. There are several very good players on this recruiting trip this weekend so you never know. Lets keep a positive spin on everything. I do believe if Mario had a DC it could be much better for us.
It's bolded so it's gotta be right.

This just doesn't feel like something that will go the way of the good guys. Mario being here and getting the last visit is notable and very well could up swinging things for us. Just everything surrounding the recruitment feels like it will go against us. Obviously just an opinion but the gut feels what the gut feels.

Sure. A ton of people that live/work at the College Station Walmarts, McDonalds, and 7-11s...

Austin is an hour away. Now that's a place to live, work, and go to school.

But as I’ve said a million times, he likes it there.
People act like Miami is the best city in the country for every single recruit and that it's impossible for some kids to want to go somewhere a bit different or quieter. Lots of appeal to city life and having entertainment easily available, beaches, etc. but plenty of nice things about mountains and being able to sit outside without having to watch tons of people walk by and be loud all the time too.

This. When I was hs, a lot of my friends chose other schools over um bc they wanted to leave home. It isn’t strange for s person wanting to explore other cities. Also, you guys aren’t 18. college towns are fun for college kids.
