Yall relax and enjoy the ride. I would love to have dude in the class but something tells me he will never live up to the hype.

I've said b4 that if he doesn't pick us I wanted him to pick JSU but f that. I want him to pick A&M. So he can have a front seat to the *** whooping.

Their is NO plausible reason for Shemar a kid from Opa Locka to go to College Station to play football unless they are dropping like 1.5-2 million dollars.

Better school, close to home, close to grandma, Miami will give him everything he wants to
Be the best person and football player under Mario.

Miami has produced first round DE's recently. Miami is linked up with good NiL deals.

I would tell Shemar when Miami plays College Station in September, you will want to be on the team that gets to leave and fly back to Miami.

What was ATM’s record for the past few years? Sure they are SEC and what has our record been, but I would hardly call them a winning program/culture. UGA, sure. Bama, sure. ATM, agricultural school in college station, TX, and you want to study marine biology? I question that move all day.

What was our record for the last few years? Decade?

They have a national championship coach and just brought in an insane class. They appear to be heading in the right direction.

Marine Biology. That's nice and all, but don't get it twisted. Some recruits like to talk about what they'll be studying, but let's be real, football is the priority. The only reason anyone ever knows what a big recruit wants to study is because some nerd reporter asks what degree they want to pursue. How many people know what they want to do at that age and actually end up working in it? I would bet less than half or more.

Anyhow, I do hope he and every recruit takes their studies seriously. That's likely their future as only a few make it to the next level. They do have it as a minor, but this is a football first decision.

there is a reason they are called Texas 8&4.

1 ten win season in last 23 years!

Totally agree about football first decision and that brings me back to the original point. ATM has had Jimbo since 2018. This will be his 4th recruiting class. What has he shown with the other 3? I did make the caveat that he plays in the SEC and that we have been dogsh1t ourselves, but do you really believe that they are blowing the doors off of college football at ATM? He had a good college qb at FSU (among other studs that he recruited) and they won at the right time and fell off of the map. People point to his wife ******** around on him as the driver for the drop off but wouldn’t that make a champion coach more motivated to show her up and keep up the winner attitude?

Instead he folded like a pancake and headed out of town in the cover of night and ATM paid him a ransom to get him there. And what has he done with it? He has recruited well again and what has he done with it? I can appreciate that it took Kirby 5 or 6 years to win a title, but he was in CFP nearly every year. Jimbo is on a slower start if it is going to happen. I personally don’t think that he turns the corner on this and that Shemar would be making a big mistake going there.

Mario
I'm sure that Mario has plenty more to say. He's trying to build a relationship with the kid and earn his trust. There's more to sell at Miami.

Shemar's relationship with the other kids could be a selling point as well.

I don't think "Not having a DC" is killing us but its a little bit of a handicap in recruiting for the kids that it matters to.
I hear you... But what I mean is.... What more can Mario sell that he hasn't sold already on like the past two/ three times he's seen Shemar? They did an in-home visit and Shemar has been on an unofficial here..... Nothing has changed since then.... Still no DC....

Right, I don't understand why not have a DC in place means that much. Any coach can leave or be fired at any time during he time at whatever school he chooses, so then what. Transfer???? If he decides to go to Georgia or A&M because of that reason then he was never coming to Miami. PERIOD!!!!
Exactly! And I know for a FACT Shemar knows that.

Hypothetically speaking, if he chooses ATM or UGA what would you point to in being the biggest determining factor?

Can’t be bags since we know we’re dropping bags nowadays.
I would honestly feel like it's just that they had a headstart. Simple as that. With Manny, we wouldn't even be in the discussion now. It sucks but yeah Mario had to pretty much start from the beginning. Like if he doesn't pick us and that's his reason, I wouldn't even be mad because it's the truth.

I'm not sure what the personal angle is about. He was married for however long, had children with this woman, provided handsomely for his family, and she did whatever she did. It's never one sided, she got attention elsewhere, and how he chose to deal with involuntarily or voluntarily is his business. I think having an opinion on how he handled that and not knowing more than a snippet from news sources is a bit low. I know not seeing my kids daily (maybe he does, maybe he got custody, I don't know) would be traumatic.

A&M did pay handsomely for him. What they've done is put forth a massive amount of money to better their football program. Things don't happen overnight, but they look to be making strides and that starts with recruiting. Their classes are getting better and they did best Bama, who had recruited better than them every year but this one.

No clue if he'll bring them a ship, but he's getting bodies in there that can give them a run at it if everything comes together.

He wants to go to UM but he wants to be certain he has as much chance to succeed both as a team and as an individual as he would anywhere else.

He delayed his announcement and signing before he even knew who our head coach was. He wants to come to Miami..he scheduled his visit for as late as possible so he could know as much about what changes are coming as possible. Coaching hires..culture changes. Program wide changes. He's been on campus over and over again. He's friends with guys on the team.
If he goes to A&M or anywhere else, it's because he thinks his chance of succeeding there are much higher than they are at Miami.

Mario gotta earn this one. Wants to see and believe things at Miami are truly changing.

The kid literally said he won’t commit if we don’t have a DC in place since he wants to know how he’ll be used. If we don’t announce someone today or while he’s there, we aren’t landing him.

He didn't say that at all.... He said it'll be HARD to commit.... That's totally different.
