Semifinal - Pedo State vs Notre Dame at Orange Bowl

With the back 7 we had on defense? I'd say definitely in the playoff, maybe win a game, but no way in the championship game, even with a 3 headed DC of Buddy Ryan, Bill Belichick, and Vic Fangio.
We couldve def won against one of the lower ranked CFP teams but thats the ceiling, there just wasnt enough on D to make us championship level.

I am an ND Law alum and adjunct professor at the law school. My wife went to St. Mary’s, which is the “sister school” to ND. It is a women’s school and before 1972 ND was solely a men’s school. My oldest daughter is at ND and my second oldest is a freshman at the U.

I have a lot of strong connections to ND. My FIL was the team physician for 30 years (until BK) and I know all kinds of people in various roles there from top to bottom. Most people I know, including my entire family, are ND diehards. I go to all the football and bball games with my son.

I love Notre Dame the school—it’s an amazing place. But I never really got into ND football when I was young and I fell in love with Miami when JJ rolled into town. So the U is my team and I take my kids to Miami/Coconut Grove/Coral Gables about once a year, and that is how my daughter also fell in love with it. I’m thus one of the rare Miami fans who also has an affinity for ND, Probably more than you wanted, but that’s the story.
Also ND Law alum Um undergrad was there tonight spending time and watching the game with Tim Brown and Tony Rice. So I am one of the rare ones also.

No fkn way those are 2 of the best four teams....

Playoff needs tweaking already.
This is college football. There’s parity (at least there is this year) and that’s probably not going away.

Get used to feeling like there’s nothing but flawed teams and feeling like the best teams don’t always make it to the CFP finals.

I think the part that needs tweaking the most is strength of schedule and the ability to put teams in that have a great player or are really effective on one side of the ball. To try to make a comparison in match madness they’re are plenty of final four worthy p4’s that don’t win a regular season or tournament championship but end up in the final 4. I think the expanded cfp should be like that.

I hate that I like Freeman. Seems like a coach that would get the most out of his team.
He is definitely a class act. I find myself rooting for him the more I hear him talk. Their team is a reflection of him and they play very well as a complete team in all 3 phases.

I will never like Notre Dame, but since we waxed them and Brian Kelly in 2017, I hate them a little less.

I hope Brian Kelly is really ******* upset about ND being in a title game and I hope he cries a lot, before suffering from explosive diarrhea in his sleep because he deserves only the worst imaginable outcomes for his daily life.

******* *******, I hope he slips and falls in his own excrements.

was a good game - I thought Notre Dame was the better team and it turned out that way.

Will tell you this though, the way the Suckeyes are playing right now, I can’t see Notre Dame beating them. They just don’t score enough points. IMO Texas is the last remaining team that can beat OSU because they have athletes on the outside that create big plays and score points.

Penn St is garbarge and the biggest joke in the sport

Every season they get ranked in the top 5 at some point, havent beaten anyone, have a coach who is a buffoon who has never won a big game yet somehow the pundits at ESPN praise this program and right behind Ohio St has the most annoying fans in the sport

Yet next year, Allar returns and they will get a pre season top 5 ranking

My hate passion for Norta dame has waned over the years. Still root for them to lose quite often though. Unlikely but I hope they win it all to **** on OSU or the SEC. It would also be pure comedy watching the implosion of porsters here if Golden’s D lead them to a title.

Pretty pathetic really that these 2 storied programs haven't won an NC since 1986 and 1988 and both of those respective teams really were not the best team, Miami was

Miami got screwed at ND with the Cleveland Gary non fumble
Miami played maybe the worst game in is history Penn St in Tempe

For all the hoopla on these 2 programs, they haven't done much
