Scrimmage take...

So he has had the QBs he was hoping to take over. Not sure what would prompt him to go after someone else unless they were a really special talent worth upsetting that. Maybe they went after Eason, or maybe they didn't? I guess the question would be what transfer out there would you have wanted them to go after? Will that transfer be able to play this year?[/QUOTE]

I would have preferred he go after someone with experience in the 2017 class to go along with Perry. We needed someone to push Malik and two freshman weren't going to do it.

Stidham for Auburn would have obviously been choice number 1 but I haven't taken the time to see who else was available.

I guess what I'm really wondering is at what point do we start questioning the QB coaches and not the QB's? Because it's not Malik Rosiers fault Richt is going into Year 3 and still hasn't found/groomed someone to take over. But it's still only year 3, so maybe it's not realistic to think that these QB issues would be fixed yet?

Real talk: let's say, for the sake of argument, that after several more scrimmages it's clear that Jarren is outperforming both Malik and N'Kosi. Not by a mile, but noticeably.

Does Richt start Jarren versus LSU, or does Malik start on an incredibly short, "if-we-go-3-&-out-he's-benched", type of leash? The answer is neither simple nor obvious. There are multiple reasons why a true frosh QB rarely starts anywhere barring injury to the starter. Curious what the board thinks.

We beat an FSU team... yay. The same FSU team BC beat by 32. What a huge accomplishment. That game isn't close with decent QB play.

Our next QB doesn't have to be a Dorsey clone, but rather simply capable of getting the job done. I believe that QB is JW.
Numbers lie in this case...tell me what game #12 outplayed the opposing qb outside of ND

Why do we need Rosier to outplay the opposing QB to win? By your own statement, you are saying he didn't, yet we won 10 out 13 games. So it's already been proven that we can win without him outplaying the opposing QB if you want to say he didn't.

Funny how people mention Dorsey, he was not an accurate passer at all. Each year his completion percentage got worse while at UM, with his Senior year being 56.5%.

Yeah, but I'd be willing to bet my life we got more than 3.6 3rd downs a game with him. Wouldn't you?

We might have, probably did, but you can't shoulder that entire blame on Rosier. How many of those 3rd down failures were due to dropped passes? The OL not holding up in pass protection? Bad situational play calling? I mean, there are so many things that led to those 3rd down failures, it's just not on Rosier.

Also, how many crossing routes did we actually try to run, but Rosier ended up having the pass batted down by a defensive lineman? I don't have any idea of a ballpark figure on this, but from what I remember of last season, it's possible that number could be pretty high.
Crazy thing is that ****es me off it wasn't like a good play by the opposing dline for batted passes it was all on rosier for getting batted down.

Exactly right about Dorsey.

He was very competitive and strong between the ears, but not gifted physically; he just happened to play on the best Miami team ever.

Our top 3 QBs, clearly at the NFL level, have been Kelly (HOF), Testaverde (about 20 years in the league) and Kosar (I think 10 or so years in the league).

Unfortunately our very best QBs were from a number of decades ago now.

Hopefully we'll be able to call the school "QB U" and have it mean something.

It doesn't mean anything right now - many other colleges have out-produced us with QBs since we had our nice run of QBs some years ago.

He missed more passes with good protection that he missed because he was pressured. As for play calling, it was clear to me Richt limited the plays he called the first half of the season. He had to, because Rosier was back there. It looked like half the field was off limits the first 6 games or so. Rosier did what he could do, but that is not enough to win championships.

Bullsh1t...you watched the games last year just like the rest of us(or maybe you didn't)...he was responsible for 60%, CMR 30% and 10% others of 3rd down failures. Dorsey kept the chains moving and put points on the board inspite of the comp % given.

Great idea.

Who’s the one throwing a tantrum, btw?

How about a certain mods relaxing and not following a certain poster around just because he doesn’t like his posts, or maybe because that poster challenged the mod on one of his opinions and the mod didn’t like it.

That might be a good place for you to start.

.

Just curious.

How old are you?

Who’s the one doing the whining? You’re the mod with the least chill and the thinnest skin I’ve ever encountered.

I showed you up a couple of days ago and you just can’t let it go. I know it hurts, but just take it like a man let it go and walk away. It happens to the best of us.

If by "showed you up" you mean you started cursing and flailing around then you're The Exorcist demon of "showing people up", sugar ****.

And by the way - I've been modding forums for about 15 years and you're probably the 3rd or 4th person I've ever got into a personal exchange with. Run those numbers.

Look, we can take statistics completely out of the discussion and go purely based on what happened on the field. From the very first game, the recipe for stopping the Miami offense was to load up to stop the run and make Rosier beat you against man coverage. The only team who didn't try to use this tactic was Notre Dame and everybody saw Miami just run the ball down their throat. When EVERY opponent on your schedule blatantly disregards your QB's ability to complete passes down field, it should be a huge red flag. Now, they didn't really have much of a choice last year so they just rode with what they had but I'm not willing to concede that they'll have to do the same thing again this year after one spring scrimmage.

I mean, maybe it’s just me, but you seem to be the one that’s all emotional and bent out of shape.

I’m somewhere between a state of mild bemusement and slightly bored with the whole exchange, honestly.

As far as the sugar **** comment, that one is a head scratcher. Is that like a regional (edit) thing? A regional insult? We don’t use that down here, so I was just wondering.

You've referenced San Francisco with me twice now, which makes me think you're trying to reference SFBayCane, a completely different moderator. I live in Texas. You're lost, again.

Swagger a fine man, and a fellow Ranger fan. TBH in my years on the WEZ (before the perma-band) I got into with EVERYONE but Swagger, he's hard to anger, well done.

Yes. I got you mixed up with him. Still not familiar with sugar ****.

Truth is, you’re angry because I challenged you,

You didn’t like it.

Your ego is bruised and you’re itching to ban me.
