C'mon Archer. That's not true nor fair. I'm a black guy and I tip EVERY time. As a matter of fact, if I can't afford to leave a tip of AT LEAST 20-25% of my bill, then I have no business eating at that restaurant.

This is what I was trying to say lol. Except I just don't tip if the service is average. You need to earn my tip by giving me great service.

Thank God I work on South Beach... 18% is included on all checks. Never got stiffed on a tip once all the years before working on the beach... I guess you cheap ****s came around a time or two before I got here.

Ahhhh so YOUR the one working for peanuts, I get it now.

****, you are the one that said he leaves a tip when he can "spare it"... who the **** can't spare money for a tip???

Do you know what bartenders like myself make a year at a good spot in South Beach???

Enough to not give a **** about leaving a good tip because I can.... Again, go save your pennies for McDonald's value menu you little broke *** ****

LOL do you spend your money on **** you think is pointless? Has nothing to do with the amount of money I have and everything to do with what I choose to use it on. YOUR the one acting like an entitled brat cause how dare I not give you extra money for doing your ******* job correctly.

And your working in the wrong intoxicant bud, your making chump change compared to the booming marijuana industry. The marijuana stores haven't even opened here in Washington and there's already a shortage lol.

First of all, You are a ****** of the highest order. If a server does their job correctly... you give a tip, you cheap ****. I don't know what your limited brain capacity considers "Great Service", but if some one does their job well at a restaraunt and everything runs smoothly why wouldn"t you give them what they deserve???... I have no idea what is the difference between "great" service and "average" service is to you. But somehow, most other Americans understand to leave a tip when the service is "average" at best. I don't know what restaraunt you have been to that gives under the table hand jobs and only caters to yours and only your needs at every waking moment of your dining experience, but from your coments about "spare money" and all, I doubt you have been to anything that remotely resembles that. I'm not "entitled" to a tip at my job, and anyone can refuse it at anytime. But, if I give you what you asked for without anything going wrong in our transaction, the proper thing to do is leave a tip of any amount you deem exceptable. Usually that begins at the 15% range... It's how guests of an establishment show gratitude... "Thank yous" don't pay bills... by your logic, why would anyone wait tables or bartend?

I don't think I've told you anything you don't already know, But when you say "if I can spare the money", I think you shouldn't go visit a sit down full service restaraunt. It sounds to me that luxury is out of your budget. The whole service industry is based on people getting tips for doing "their job" you imbecile... if restaraunts actually had to pay atleast minimum wage to their wait staff, bussers and bar staff, because people think it's okay not to tip if their job is at worst "doing their job correctly"... No one would work at restaraunt and No one would open a ******* restaraunt and all we would have is, maybe, fast food joints and of course home cooked meals. It's the way our society works here in America.

It's obvious no one taught you manners and common sense.

On your second point, which is even more retarded, why would I leave a 6 figure job for something that is not yet legal in the state of Florida?? Weed is easy as **** to find in Miami right now and if you do the math on what you make on a ounce of weed selling 1/2 eighths and eighths of every ounce here it's a no brainer what most NOT retarded people would do for a living.

Again, grow up and stop making people in the state of Washington look like jerkoffs.

I think he was being sarcastic

Tipping in restaurants is an established part of mainstream American culture. Based on our shared culture, it is rude and inappropriate to not tip unless the service is bad.

I'll give the waitress the benefit of the doubt that her use of "boys" was more likely to be playful or of the hey what can I get you boys to drink to a table of guys variety, rather than Django Unchained.

The benefit of the doubt? Are you serious? 100% certain she was not like, "Oh hey…what are these black guys doing in a sports bar in south Florida…don't they know they're not welcome here. **** this…I'm gonna call them boys in reference to the slave era."

I agree with you ---my comment was more if someone was creating doubt on this issue --- the benefit would go to the waitress related to the boys comment.

Are any of you that's referencing or trying to justify her actions black how tf can you justify someone other then your father or mother calling you boy is disappointing and shows the lack of honest to god respect for a race as a whole

Sapp's follow up argument on twitter was that men leave tips not boys, not white men or black men.

Because she calls him a boy what does that have to do with what I said..he's right thou

Clearly a job for Al Sharpton.

The 26-year-old went on Miami's WINZ-AM, according to CBSSports.com's John Breech, to explain the "boys" comment:
"We were busy. I walked over to his table. It was him and one other guy and I said, 'Hey boys, what I can I get you to drink.' And he was like 'We're not boys, I'm a man,'" the waitress said. "I mean, saying 'Hey men, what do you want to drink sounds kind of weird.' I think I go with boys a lot, it sounds more youthful."

[...]
I didn't know boys was offensive. It'd just be if I went up to a table of girls, I'd say 'hey girls -- or hey ladies.'

Corey also talked about the "poor service":

'He got there around 3:20 p.m... And he left probably an hour after [the match] and his service wasn't terrible,' the waitress said, adding that Sapp 'never complained.'

Corey also said that it was her sister who posted the receipt on Facebook. Now that it has gone viral, she felt the need to explain her side of the story.

I'd like to give Sapp the benefit of the doubt if I hadn't already heard multiple stories about how he's an *******.

I never tip unless the service is REALLY good or if I have money to spare. I'm not into paying somebody extra for normal service. Thanks for not spitting in my food? Right lol.

Let the hate begin

Low life cheap scumbag

That slob Sapp is too.

If your not entitled and anyone can refuse to tip at any time then why are you arguing? I sincerely doubt you make in the 6 figures(which I imagine is pretty rare for bartenders in general), that's why your so fired up about this, you NEED those tips.

And flipping a oz? That's like step 1 in trying to be the lowest level street dealer, or a one off thing cause you want some extra change, nobody anywhere is gunna make alot of money on that. Growing and making products for the dispensaries is what I've been doing, everything from the regular plant to edibles to concentrates. If you can brave the changing landscape of the laws changing LOTS of money is to be had. Much more then what a bartender makes.

This is exactly what I would have figured happened. Plus, most people in the service industry are in their 20's aren't even going to know that "boy" used to be a demeaning term for slaves/black people.

Sapp had sand in his ****** and reacted in a poor manner.

Good for you.

But Cane fan to Cane fan you need to change your philosophy on tipping or you'll go through life with lots of people thinking that you're a cheap *******.

In case you missed it before, I work somewhere that includes 18% tip on every transaction... on every $12 drink I make (the cheapest well drink price we offer) I make 2+ dollars every drink... a coke can is $5 at my place. the cheapest beer is $8. A burger is $16 and so on... If I make 100 rum and cokes in a day thats $200 plus I made for 15 mins of work... see how it works. Its real easy to make 7k to 9k monthly before taxes on my paycheck and I still get cash that isn't claimed as well. You don't know what you don't know.

There is people that make a ****load more than me in South Beach. A friend that bartends at LIV clears over 150 k for working 4 nights a week... he left his day job because the money was too good. In all my time bartending (8 years) I have never had someone ask me to remove the tip off their tab even though they have the right, and people have done it to others I've worked with. I'd say atleast 30% of patrons leave something extra on top. Florida's and Miami Beaches's biggest industry is tourism. Mainly going to clubs, hotels and whereever their is a party is what people do here... and its all fueled by alcohol... (and alot of blow).

On the weed thing, its not legal in the state of Florida... there is no point in talking about it. I'm not opening a dispensery anytime soon.

My point in all this is you are a cheapskate and everyone here has agreed. I feel sorry for you if you frequent any bar or restaraunt often... they must love you there, and yes, people in the industry do remember good tippers and bad tippers.
