People who do not tip are scum. Waiters/waitresses actually LOSE money when you don't tip bc they have to pay a % of their total receipts - not tips - for the busboys.

Ironically, the notoriously worst tippers are also the most demanding pain in the *** customers.

And for somebody to bust his/her *** and then get stiffed is reprehensible.

Fully agreed IF the service is at least decent, but a tip is earned, not a right. If she was being a jerk, than he has every right not to tip. If she gave decent service, go ahead and give her a little something.

Fair enough, but as a previous poster mentioned, the likelihood of the waitress being rude is virtually nil, bc she's trying to make money.

Apparently that waitress was calling him "boy" the whole time she was serving them, and that's why he wrote "Boys Don't Tip". Idk, I probably wouldn't have tipped the ***** either. That's kinda disrespectful

It just defies logic that she would intentionally disrespect a customer who she's hoping to receive a tip from.

And even if he interpreted her comment as rude or racist then act like an adult and tell her to not address you as "boy because it's offensive." Don't pull a passive aggressive maneuver at the end of the meal.

I never tip unless the service is REALLY good or if I have money to spare. I'm not into paying somebody extra for normal service. Thanks for not spitting in my food? Right lol.

Let the hate begin

That would be assuming most people exercise what you call "logic". She seems like a flat out ***** to me, type of woman who would do exactly that: be passively aggresively rude to a black customer by refering to them as boy, yet still expect a tip, then tweet about it when she didn't receive one

I get that they get paid peanuts, and that's why I do tip when I have the money, but this idea that you deserve my hard earned money cause you didn't **** with me? I'm not gunna support that.

How old are you????.... 11 ???.... I doubt you eat anywhere better than a greasy spoon diner from what you are saying.... you can"t afford a 5 10 20 dollar tip?
You sound like the one that gets paid peanuts here, loser.... Grow up.

Can't really disagree with Sapp.

I eat out 5 times a week, and have been on that schedule for almost 30 years, and I can objectively say that service is at an all time low.

Seems like servers think tips are obligatory, and not what they are, a gratuity.

When the service is good I tip great, 25%+.

When the service is bad I tip badly, and if the server doesn't like it, maybe they should up their game or find a new line of work that doesn't involve manners or professionalism.

Affording the tip has nothing to do with it.

If you generously reward truly crappy service, then you are, not only condoning a crappy waitress, but rewarding her.
Is it fair to give a good to great tip to both the excellent and the Shiit server, irregardless of their effort?

I don't think so. Not tipping or tipping poorly might be the kick in the crotch a shiitty waitress needs to jolt her out of her sub mediocrity.

I gather you have never worked in the service industry. That tip doesn"t only go to the server... from there Bussers, Food Runners and Barstaff are paid as well.
I've worked in this buisness for 13 years now, I'm out all the time. I really don't see all this bad service you are talking about. And if i don't like it I'm not going back and leaving the minimum 15% so not eveybody who's working there is getting screwed over.

Leaving no tip because you can't afford to leave one is being a douche. Point blank.

This is what I was trying to say lol. Except I just don't tip if the service is average. You need to earn my tip by giving me great service.

****, you are the one that said he leaves a tip when he can "spare it"... who the **** can't spare money for a tip???

Do you know what bartenders like myself make a year at a good spot in South Beach???

Enough to not give a **** about leaving a good tip because I can.... Again, go save your pennies for McDonald's value menu you little broke *** ****

Warren is once again full of it and my least favorite former Cane not named Sileo. Racism obviously still exists but I find it really hard to believe that a waitress in South Florida is using the term "boy" at all let alone with a racist connotation. Sounds like Fat Warren is constructing tall tales with a limited sense of creativity.

LOL do you spend your money on **** you think is pointless? Has nothing to do with the amount of money I have and everything to do with what I choose to use it on. YOUR the one acting like an entitled brat cause how dare I not give you extra money for doing your ******* job correctly.

And your working in the wrong intoxicant bud, your making chump change compared to the booming marijuana industry. The marijuana stores haven't even opened here in Washington and there's already a shortage lol.
