@DMoney says the coaches felt we only missed at nickle but I dont understand what they see when our room was gutted by early entries and said yea we good, lets get this walk on nickle from terrible defense and make him a safety with #7 who has no instincts and #15 who hasnt gained a pound and I guess is unplayable.

We didnt even try to portal something.. watch the game and see how many runs that limited to 5 yards or so while our guys still backpedaling. Not even saying GT safety is good, but they can fill alley and wrap up..

This was a failure of the stupid way MC is recruiting. Recruit all the positions not just one position group per season. I rather have 1 good safety, 1 good CB, 1 good LB, 2 good Dline than have a good dline and scrubs in the back.

How much more would it have cost to get two good safety’s and upgrade the corner room we sorely needed to replace an all American safety and all caliber guy back there with good players we have severely downgraded at those spots

First class was Williams.

Harris was and is a CB.

Second class they only got Spencer who is now at Va Tech

3rd class they got Patterson & Mack but Mack is small he will be a nickle CB.

Just complete failure by the staff not even recruiting a position and then doing nothing about it in the portal. Meesh is a CB not a safety.

It’s incompetence by the staff and they are paying for it big time.

Agree the angle was bad but this one actually wasn’t on meesh. The play broke down when #7 decided to empty the strong side of the field to double up on a receiver 40 yards down field while the ball was handed off. But yes, meesh could have cleaned it up with the correct angle.

I'm more frustrated at our lack of DL play than DB play. We always knew we didn't have the horses at DB but it would be mitigated by our DL (that was the theory at the beginning of the year, anyway). But, that unit has deteriorated in play every game. Not sure if JT and Guidry just aren't on the same page, not sure if we're banged up or what but that unit has been bad.

it has been the most disappointing unit of the team imo. they have the horses to be good and we were led to believe theyd be elite, but theyre not close. not even remotely close. at this point, id really look at the whole defensive staff and reevaluate.

im not sure finishing second matters really considering theyre not here and were replaced with trash cans.

I dunno what is going on but these guys look like they are playing confused and mentally overloaded and so are in a bad rhythm and a step late to deciding where they need to be after the snap.

Even assuming the talent is weak they are playing even worse than that.

It's wild to me that everyone constantly talks about how great of a recruiter Mario is and then they conveniently leave this fact out.
