RUMOR THREAD: V Davis

Wow. Never heard of anyone bailing that quickly for anything other than off-field stuff. Wtf?

I hope it's just an individual problem, not a systemic problem where others plan to follow suit due to looming sanctions or some such garbage.

Either way, weak stuff. If he just couldn't hack the competition, that's his problem.

Man, one of my favorites in this class.

Would hate to see it because he was buried on the depth chart.

Oh well.....next.

We still have a huge log jam at CB.

This is a good thing. We don't do much business with his school either so no issues there. I love that Golden's program weeds out the kids that don't want to work.

IF he was scared of competition why would he have come here at all with the 6 other CB's we had coming in?

How about you people just let all details reveal before rushing to judgment on this kid when none of you have any idea what the reason is.

Maybe dude's got other stuff going on. Maybe he just doesn't feel like he fits in at UM now that he's there...it happens.

Either that, or he expected to be THE guy at CB and get immediate playing time, and now that he realizes that's not the case (other than special teams burn), he wants to go elsewhere. Good luck to him, but kids need to learn how to wait their turn if they're not ready to play for a particular program. That has become a lost idea amongst this generation of players. No thought of earning the spot, they simply want to get on the field and mess up along the way--just because they want the PT.

Look at Kendal Thompkins. I know, I know...Greentree AA and all that stuff...but Kendal could ball out this year and make it into the league. And why? Because he stuck it out at UM and it seems like after all of this time, he's ready to contribute. He didn't puss out at the first sign of competition. Patience indeed has been a virtue for him, and it could pay off this season.

Kids like Davis (seemingly), on the other hand, are just too impatient and think they're better right now than what they are.

All of this Great post.

He was probably told he was going to redshirt and didn't want to do that. That's unfortunate, but regardless, if the kid doesn't want to be here, then wish him well and move on. We don't have the ability to waste scholarships on guys who would rather be elsewhere.

Shouldn't you be busy calling other schools, Vernon?

Good call OP

This is incredibly weak. If dude is not mentally tough enough to go through a couple weeks of camp - well, bye. Good luck to him, wherever he ends up.
