Ruiz stadium update

65k is more than enough. Only big games will sell out anyway. I'm still concerned with transportation at Tropical but it could work with student shuttles and such. I doubt we even reached 50s much during Richts 2017 other than ND/VT.

I'd personally love the smaller/loud atmosphere with great tailgating/dining - bar options. It fits Miami IMO. We aren't BAMA expecting the entire state to show up on a Saturday at noon against Duke because there isn't anything else to do.

I don't really think we have to worry about parking when we'll still have 30,000 showing up to most games. Yes, with a new coach. Yes, with a new stadium. But once the novelty wears off, it will be same old, even if we're winning. The admin won't care because season tickets are sold out and Golden Canes are happy But our rivals will point out that we got a brand new stadium still not on campus and still can't fill it.
Why do our own fans repeat false narratives?

Also says softball is coming and he wants mens golf. Not sure what he can do in regards to that. His kid said they modeled the concept after Baylor’s stadium. Which opens up right next a river. Similar to the lake by their proposed stadium.

This is what came to my mind reading those tweets....

It's gonna be awesome seeing this come to fruition. I think HR is a great stadium but Ruiz has an incredible vision.

Great that is what I wanted to see. I saw other people mention 48,000.

Now how do you figure 16k parking will handle a stadium that has 65K?
You just went from ranting about a mythical 48k figure to now about to rant about parking. Relax, Guy.

16k × 2.5 persons per car = enough on-site parking for 40k fans and doesn't even account for students walking/bussing from campus.

This wouldn't be an unusual situation as far as stadiums in actual cities go. The ratio of on-site parking is never anywhere near 1:1 to stadium capacity. Bird Rd and Miller (to a lesser extent) are the land of strip malls too. There would be plenty of "off-site" options. How many spots were actually in official lots at The OB?

Sooo. Another county issue may be, on game days (satrdays), the entire rest of the park is shut down due to traffic and parking being taken up by canes. Saturday is the busiest day of the week for that park (bdays, picnics, support a cause events, little league, adult softball, youth soccer, basketball, fitness folks, etc..) yes all those facilities are there, but based on what he’s saying, they are depending on taking all the lots around the park.
For 6 or 8 days a year.. how big of a problem is it?

They just want to complain about anything and everything. This team needs a stadium with a college football atmosphere. After Steve Ross invited The Gators to celebrate their Natty on our home turf I was officially done with HR.

If you were paying attention I said people had brought up the 48K because of the sharing stadium with the soccer stadium.

The students make up very very little of that 65k.

If you can't figure out that 16k won't work for 65k then there's no helping you.

I've been to games where they claim huge attendance numbers and the stadium sure doesn't look to match those figures. Maybe the large number of empty seats because people are in the clubs skews my perspective, but it's been mentioned many times here.

If you just run with numbers that "people brought up" and then proceed to rant how embarrassed you are by said number (even though it had no factual application to this discussion) and then immediately pivot to preemptively b!tching about parking without any comprehension of current standards for urban-type stadiums....then there's no helping you.

What part of Palm Beach or Martin County do you live in?

Stadium renderings seems to have ramps leading up to the stadium. Which means it would be elevated to a degree. That would be unique for SOFL and allow for more usable spaces at land level in and around the stadium. A food and adult beverage trucks row would be a nice addition especially for the thousands of fans that don't tailgate. Our game day experience should be unique from all others. With a very Tropical setting.

Grew up in Miami live in Hollywood and have been a season ticket holder for 40 years.

I will agree to disagree with you.

Have a great day!

bowl game, plus concerts, pro soccer exhibitions, etc... they aren't pouring all that money just for 6-8 days a year. Not arguing either way, just stating in his current comments, that entire park is shut down when big events are going on.
