Ruiz addresses Shalala

Yal be hating for no reason . This dude is saying he’s willing to do whatever to help the team and your response is “oh he’s an idiot because I said so” . Whether his SPAC goes through or not , he already has money, actually wants to help the team and , is being vocal about it . Yea let’s shout out the Soffers for being “quiet” what exactly has that gotten us ? Media speculation that we’re broke and don’t care about football ? Ruiz is trying to change that
. Even if the stadium is a long shot , it certainly has a better chance of happening with all this attention drawn to the idea , vs. “doing it silently” and the powers that be are more easily able to squash it in silence.

You actually have no idea what studies he and his group have or haven’t done . This could be a distraction while they go after the real site, you actually have no idea so stop speaking like you do .
I agree. The guy is striking up the conversation with money to back his talk. Blood sucking vampire politicians like Shalala destroy but don't create. Slam the witch in public. Anyway, as Virgil's famous quote

“Audaces fortuna iuvat (latin)- Fortune favors the bold.”

John " The Savage" Ruiz

What is going on? It's like all this amazing stuff is happening after suffering for so long. My head is gonna explode.
From your mouth to Gods ear! The last 2 weeks has been the best for this Canes fan in 20 years. 2 ****** decades of suck. Dumb stupid over their head coaches. **** everyday from this program. I loved GMoney and Stefans closing song on their podcast. “Bad luck gonna change”. Lordy! Sounded like old timey Gospel singing. Lord I have arrived!!!!

Who thought to even interview Shalala about this topic? My guess is it was SMD. Watch her follow up with Mario in today's introductory press conference asking about how do you feel about Donna's comments about a stadium rebuild?

That's a misunderstanding of how we got here. Miami has never supported it's football team, but in the past coaches were able to get past that. Today they can't. Sure, Donna failed to modernize and change with the times, but she's not the reason we're here. We're here because past Miami leaders never prioritized football so it never became a central part of the university culture. At OSU or bama, most people think the university exists to serve the football team, and Miami's never felt that way. Football never became a thing you just don't f**k with at Miami. ****, Tad never gave a sh*t about football, and it didn't start with him either.

Donna had near complete power, and purposely held back our football program. She is not the only culprit, but she is a big part of the problem.

I agree with Donna, His idea of tearing down a whole high school for a ******* i n g football stadium that people only visit 5-6 times a year is dumb AF.

We already don't have enough room to build a stadium, so where the TF is He going to put a whole HS?

And where are you gonna put over 3K students while this happens...GTFOOH!!!

Is this blabber mouth clown really a billionaire?

That’s a good analysis.

Pluses: Shalala likes football, and could EASILY have done the politically palatable thing and cancelled the 2006 or 2011 season, or even cancelled the program. She would have been hated here for it, but lionized nationally for having done so. She would have been a legend. She instead fought back against media calls for cancellation in 2006, and the NCAA in 2012-2013.

Negatives: As college football spending began to increase heavily in Florida, Alabama, and other places she appeared very slow or unwilling to advance. It’s one thing when a Florida spends twice as much as you in the 80s. It’s another thing if they spend 5x as much. I’ll never forget Randy Shannon saying that the couches in the Hecht Athletic Center were the same furniture from when he was a player nearly twenty years earlier. Or Al Golden trying to get a nutritionist on staff, and being told no initially.

Do what UT did - to an extent - and make the high school part of the stadium itself. It might make for a somewhat odd facility, but you could do it.

Read the article. He has offered to move the high school, and if he is willing to pay for it, why do you care?
