Ronald Delancey got his offer

people crying over late offer need to just log off. Are the coaches not allowed to evaluate a player during his senior year?

Mack Brown burned down Texas by taking kids too early and not evaluating senior Film. High risk, high reward when offering early and taking commits. I have no problem with a coach waiting if he truly wasn’t sure.

Lets look at it this way. If you woke up on signing day and we had this kid committed and heard we picked him over Hodges, would you be happy? Then answer it seems to everyone is yes, so why are people crying? Who cares how we got here. Just close the deal on the better players.

Other schools do the same thing. Saban offered Josh Jacobs a 3 star a week before NSD. It happens. I get that this kid is local but there are a million kids playing ball all over the country. Things like this will happen. Just get the best kids signed at the end of the day.

see the bolded. The answer is YES....I wanted him offered over Hodges int he spring.

"took off projections"???

What does that even mean?

Rumph second guesses himself even...Plain and simple. And it's a bad look.

I think Rumph is a good coach - but his recruiting sucks, both in identifying kids and then closing.

He has to stop thinking every kid has to be the same size/build as him. There are kids smaller/faster who are more physical than some of the bigger kids and recruiting kids who lack speed is never going to end well in the open space offenses of today unless you run a bend/don't break cover-2 with help over the top all the time and decide to beat the snot out of WR at the line of scrimmage.

I get that you and El have wanted an offer for him and Rumph/Diaz made a late offer after a bad eval. What I’m pointing out is it happens all over the country. We just don’t know about it cause we aren’t on those teams boards and plugged in like you two are.

If Rumph had landed Campbell, Surtain or any other top target the last few years, we probably wouldn’t be on his neck the way we are today about something like this late offer. Also if Malik YouNg was still playing, nobody would be complaining about our top 6 CB. The Cb recruiting has definitely been questionable each year, but we somehow still end up solid. We do need to see him and our staff go from solid to close to elite if we ever want to compete with the big boys though.

"It's big," Delcaney told 247Sports and InsideTheU over the phone. "But they are going to have to work, you feel me? They were offering five and four-stars and they just forgot about us dogs – the two and three-stars. I didn't like that."

Delancey, who is ranked by 247Sports as the nation's No. 131 cornerback, has made nothing but plays as a senior for a Bulls' squad that's 10-5 and in the semifinals of the 5A state playoffs totaling 51 tackles and four interceptions.

"The coaches just apologized for the late offer," Delancey said.

Coaches hoping to get him in for a visit 12/6..........He is hoping for UGA offer.

"sense of direction" is well put...Their offers and fake offers are based on indecision, attempting to be slick, and the occasional panic. I'm not sure if Hodges for instance was "forced out", but if he was someone explain that to me? You made your decision on a local kid Rumph, he had great 7 on 7 moments this summer, and is playing well for a good defense his senior season, you change your mind on him insta? Why take him?

I could see waiting on Delancey. But why wasn't he offered in mid-october or even 10/4 after a great game against Central? When we first started "expanding the board" (Does Rumph even know how to expand a board? Does Rumph have a board?)...When we first started talking Devante Brown, and Jalen Harrell, and others back in the mix. Should have been Delancey in that group as well.

This! All of this. Same ?’s I’ve been having for a while.

As I mentioned well before, this staff is uncouth when it comes to recruiting. These mofos literally tell kids, “hey, thanks for your interest in The U, but we have other players ahead of you right now. Hey, listen; if those players turn us down, you’ll be the first kid we’ll call.” Lol.

These chumps don’t know the fine intricacies of not burning bridges. Richt got fortunate w Harley; but if anyone remember, we were all begging for a Harley offer wellllll before the season began, some of the players were begging for a Harley offer, and we finally offered dang near at season’s end. In the end, our class of 17 helped us w Harley.

These cats legitimately don’t know how to play the recruiting game. They either get suckered or they consistently misevaluate until it’s too late. We don’t get the benefit of the doubt of being late to the party. U can’t suck for all these kid’s lives, and then try to make your late offer seem like it’s a Bama offer, OSU offer, or UGA offer.

Manny talks about culture, not just thinking we’re Miami, it’s all good; well these coaches have been riding the coat tails of our past greatness as well. They all talk about the past, thinking that’s going to get these kids. So yeah, our culture is broken b/c we conduct ourselves from top to bottom like we’re in 2000.

I don’t mind the late offer. But as soon as we offered Marcus Clarke we should have offered this kid the same day. That was a slap in the face. And I really like Clarke.

I’ve been convinced that Rumph has the least of the power on the defensive staff. All the other hires are Diaz’s. He has to go through Baker and Diaz before he offers. I think Baker/Diaz are the ones that are looking for certain traits.

@Liberty City El @gogeta4 I have a serious question for you, I haven’t watched this kids film and I don’t plan to unless he commits to UM. Im just curious of your opinions since you have been beating his drum all season. What makes this kid UM caliber as opposed to other kids who are similarly ranked and sized that UM fans would typically be upset that we took? What are his good/elite traits that make him a player that you are so high on? Where does he struggle and could use improvement? What do you attribute to his relatively low ranking?

If my grandmother had balls she’d be my grandfather.
