Richardson gone, RB coach search Thread (Lockette, Bennett?)

Wait, whut? Coley is the offensive coordinator, why would anyone suggest he coach RBs? Foolishness.

Solindger immediately comes to mind, but he's older and not sure if he gives one flip about recruiting. Guess we'll have to wait and see what Golden conjures up.

Foolishness to assume that OCs in college don't often coach a position too.

Yeah, they coach quarterbacks more often than not. I still don't see why the chirping for him to coach RBs. Does he have a background in it?

I believe he does. But even if he doesn't, RB is probably the easiest position to coach.

OCs coach many different positions. How extensive is his experience as a QB coach? I'd rather have an inexperienced RB corch, which is one of the lowest level corches on the team, than an inexperienced QB coach, which is a very important technical coaching position. ANY experienced college coach can coach RBs. The same is not true of the QB coaching position.

I really, really like the idea of having a dedicated QB coach and letting Coley handle RBs.

Especially with the youngings we'll have behind Morris.

Truth. Side note, is Nix available?

well if Cristobal is going to leave, better now than the end of next season.

Would suck if Mario left.

Wouldn't mind seeing Sol back -- he is respected by local HS coaches, which is important, and will actually coach well. He'll help with recruiting because of his relationships, and we have enough other guys to text kids and do whatever counts as recruiting these days.
