Not just jealousy of the guy who gets the job, but also anger over who DOESN'T get it... It's no-win.

Harris and Luke already hate us so fuuck them. They can be jealous all they want. I wouldn't blame Golden if he never let them come to campus again.
 
Maybe we could hire both and make one of them the designated Continent of Africa recruiter. Lock down South Florida and a continent at the same time.
 
Just hire the best coach, someone who can coach guys up, work well on the staff and recruit. Doesn't matter if it's Lockette, Bennett, Irvin or whoever. And don't worry about ****ing somebody off or hurt feelings.

Don't forget that Bennett played with Cristobal and Barrow. Those guys go waaaayyyyy back. But you have to like what Lockettes been doing @ Central.

Tough call if Al does decide to go the local high school coach route.
 
Best man gets the job, no matter where he comes from. If Hurlie Brown goes back to FIU as DB coach, there will also be a football administrative job open.

I would rather keep Bennett in high school so we have at least one coach on our side down here. He basically led Coley to us, I'd rather have him coaching high school than coaching for us.
 
Not that I know much, but I would be happy with Lockette. Although I have no problem with hiring Bennett, it could be still looked at as hiring a UM alum rather than a move to support the local coaching community and increasing ties to SF if Lockette was the chosen one.

Blake James indicated on his conference call that a job offer has been made. Uncle Luke then tweeted "somebody just got a job. WOW!!!"

Luke likes the hire, whoever it is. **** has frozen over.

I'm guessing Lockette, since Luke has Central ties.

I haven't read the entire thread so apologies if it has already been mentioned, but if you're going to interview Lockette and Bennett, you better hire Lockette. Bennett will probably always have UM's back and be an asset to the school whereas who knows how Lockette will react if he doesn't get the job. And UM doesn't need a coach at a school like Central who has an axe to grind with the program.

It won't head off any criticism from the maggots down there with axes to grind because they only give a **** truly about themselves. All the bullsh2t they spew is sophistic pretext. They're real agendas wouldn't play well to the public, so they engage in pretext and subterfuge.

But Al definitely needs to fill that slot with a young black coach that will recruit like a wild man. The staff is a little too white, especially given our location. I think the grind finally wore out TRich, who did a really nice job for us. That RB coach needs to be one of your main recruiters, and TRich was grinding his *** off fighting a lot of bullsh2t down here.
