Real reasons to UGA recent turmoil

Mark Richt recruited DJ Shockley when he was at FSU and at UGa.... I remember it caused a lot of friction at UGa when he was there. After Richt was forced to hire an OC I think Bobo had full control of who he wanted to recruit and he clearly was prejudice against Black QBs and I’m sure the people running UGa wanted it that way. people blame Richt for UGa not recruiting Newton or Watson but that clearly wasn’t his call to make at the time.

Maybe Kirby's just mishandling his QB situation.

Regardless, I hope UbaGA (stealing this one, Chise) implodes like a ************.

Not under Kirby Smart, which I think is their point. Without knowing too much about his game I just assumed they aren't using Fields to throw the ball because he is either not accurate doing so or they are saving that look for Bama or another time they NEED a score to win a game.

This is literally the dumbest take I have ever heard & I generally agree with 90% of your opinions. Show me 1 shred of evidence our staff has ever approached any personnel decisions according to color. (let alone skin tone of 1 AA to another) Fact is, there is overwhelming evidence to directly contradict what you are insinuating. It's ignorant comments like this that keep the racial divide in this Country alive and thriving.

So a former player in that board said it’s true.
But more hilarious is someone said that their play calling is trash. After scrolling through some other teams boards it seems that play calling is the number one problem everywhere. Lol
 
It's funny that when we lose a kid to these SEC schools people **** and scream asking why these kids going to racist schools but then when one of them actually shows that they probably are racist you guys defend them and say it's not true lol Whcih one is it?

There is definitely something going on up there and it started with that baseball player going on his racist rant about Fields.

uga has some conspiracy minded fans just like every fan base.

Smart would play anyone if he thought it would help him win. The guy may be the grand wiizzard, but he is still going to play whoever he thinks can help him beat Alabama. He is a football mercenary first and for most.

I doubt boosters are saying anything of the sort. I'm guessing even racist GA fans would rather be 11-1 with a black QB than 9-3 with a white QB. I'm sure there would be disgusting racist remarks like we've heard about other AA QB's at southern schools that have had to deal with ignorant fans but very few people IMO are so racist they wouldn't want the better player to play.

I live in Atl and met a runningback who played under Richt at UGA and he told me the same thing. Apprently UGA's BoT didn't want Richt to recruit Watson because of his race, and with Cam, Richt wanted him to play TE. This is what I've heard from a former player.

They're what 6-1 with a QB who took them to the NC last year, definitely racism that they aren't playing a true freshman QB, give me a f@ckin break.
 
Geez, some people are just plain stupid. I know a ton of UGA boosters and they could give 0 ***** that Fields is black. Their QB took them to the Natty as a frosh. Were it not for an epic collapse by Smart the kid would have a ring.
You have to EARN the right to start. Not be handed it because your hype says you’re the man. If Fields is in his feelings then I wouldn’t want him anyway. You wanna play? Beat the guy out in front of you.
There’s something else going on there but it’s not racism keeping Fields on the bench.

What's going on is Kirby's loyalty to Fromm. Kirby was Fromm's main recruiter at Bama and the reason he went to UGA. I've heard from people close to Fields that the only reason he isn't starting is because Fromm is Kirby's guy. At first I thought it was just family bias, but after the LSU game I'm not so sure. Fields was a big reason why UGA was getting commits and now that Fields isn't getting a shot and is unhappy, the commits are leaving. It's possible that things can turn around, but I'm hearing that UGA will lose another big commit, either Nolan Smith or Trezman Marshall, relatively soon and that Fields won't be at UGA next year.
 
I'm not sure of the race angle, but let's not be so dismissive of some of that talk as Athens and Georgia, while NOT Mississippi, is STILL deep south. Im not sure of the racial component and how much it factors into how Fields is feeling, but its really apparent Fields was promised a shot to start and play heavy minutes and does not feel he has been given a fair shot. Who knows the reality of the situation but as an outside observer, lets take a look.

From Smart's viewpoint: Fromm took them (part of the way at least) to the Natty and has only lost once this season. The offense has been steady under his lead and they are still in position to reach all of their goals. Why make a change?

From Field's viewpoint: Fromm is only averaging 200yds/game and in his 3 losses as starter, he has been under 50% and thrown from less than 180/game. I'm the #1 player in the class and was promised playing time which I'm not getting. The passing game ain't it, don't let our rushing stats fool you into thinking we are this outstanding offensive team.

FYI, For those of you spouting off DJ Shockley (2005 and Quincy Carter (2000) as reasons that UGA CAN'T have racial predilection....WOW. That's almost as bad as saying someone CAN'T be racist because they have a black neighbor they speak to across the lawn....
