There's nothing tricky about it.Interesting takes from DMoney and Memnon…seems to be a tricky situation.
Makhi Hughes will be the best returning RB in CFB next year.
That's the end of the discussion.

And Fletcher banged up in the goal line drive and Lyle inDoes anyone still think we don't need Hughes after watching what happened after #6 stopped playing in the bowl game?
Did Fletcher get dinged up on that 2nd & 1 conversion from ISU 9? That would explain a lot about the playcalling the rest of that drive and the next one.And Fletcher banged up in the goal line drive and Lyle in

After that **** show, we may want to revisit this discussion.
Some of you people have short memories. It was just 2 seasons ago when all 5 of our scholarship RBs got injured and missed time at one point or another.
4 scholarship RBs is not enough RBs, especially when 2 of them have done nothing in college. And even moreso considering the sort of offense we will likely need to revert to with our current QB options.
Sounds like Makhi Hughes is going to Oregon to play with his brother. He should have huge success there.
I wish Mario stayed at Oregon. They wouldn’t be having this success
If Cam Ward was coming back then sure.
With what will undoubtedly be a drastic drop off in QB play, having an actual ELITE RB should be paramount.
Betting on the run game, with a worse QB & seemingly losing Martinez, with only 2 backs currently on the roster with any productivity is a gamble in odds that doesn't favor the unlucky.
Oh ST already had a 1200yd back in Treveyon Henderson, but they still brought in Quinshon Judkins when he became available. Why? Because adding great players to your team makes winning easier.
Hughes is better than every RB on the team, that's not debatable.
D$ is paid to pump out propaganda from the Hecht. We saw this in the spring, the fall, Emory, etc. I’m not even blaming him, he had a job to do and he does it better than any canes site.Interesting takes from DMoney and Memnon…seems to be a tricky situation.
Now this I wholeheartedly agree with. He’s a top 5 back in the nation if he returns.I say we pay Martinez whatever the heck he wants and bring him back. I love watching that kid play and he is better than everyone in this thread.
But to go into 2025 will all your eggs in his basket (pause, I think?) and not even look to upgrade at the position is not only risky, but reckless behavior.
Mario’s middle name is “Wreckless.”D$ is paid to pump out propaganda from the Hecht. We saw this in the spring, the fall, Emory, etc. I’m not even blaming him, he had a job to do and he does it better than any canes site.
Memnon has been an instrumental proponent of this board and has no dog in this fight. He’s been right more often than not on prospects, our CB room, Ward and Emory, coaches, etc.
If you polled 10000 fans from around CFB to say who’s better, 99% would said Hughes. The 1% would be superfans from Miami.
I know which side I’m riding with. And I’m not saying Lyle is not good - I think he’ll be a very good RB in due time.

The most important thing D$ said was the funds aren’t unlimited. Which to me, is an issue. We should be looking to upgrade everywhere on offense, especially losing a talent like Ward and Martinez.
