QBS in the Portal as of 11/28

CIS would have rioted if we took Mendoza the first week he was in the portal.
Not me. I was on board. He would have been a perfect bridge to Nickel, and fit this offense well. Probably be a mid round draft pick then off to the NFL. Nickel takes over in 2026.

I feel like Mario got sorta sabotaged on the QB deal. I feel like he was given strong indication from an agent that we had our QB, and that was never the case from agent/player POV. More like building an insurance plan for his own player. It would be my only explanation as to why we didn't take Mendoza.

Just remember when thinking about Emory and Nickel battling for QB1 this is schedule:

2 preseason Top 10 ish teams, 5 top 25 teams. Then look at opposing QBs.

Notre Dame
Florida-Lagway
@SMU-Jennings
@FSU-Castellanos
@VT-Drones
Louisville-Moss
N.C. State-Bailey
USF-Brown
Syracuse-McCord
Bethune Cookman
@Pitt-Holstein
Stanford
McCord is a senior and is out of eligibility.

I know it’s no point in crying over spilled milk, but I’ll never understand the Mendoza pass by the staff. Perfect bridge to Nickel. Smh
Incompetence by the staff. How this isn’t being discussed more is surprising. Mendoza was a slam dunk but we shouldn’t dismiss the countless QB’s we missed on for different reasons.

I am usually results oriented rather than process oriented. There’s many roads to get to a good result and in the end the result is all that matters. This QB search has made me entirely rethink this philosophy. We’re stuck with Mario, but it is clear that the guy can’t walk and chew gum at the same time, over complicates just about everything, can’t get out of his own way and thinks working hard can beat working smart. He is an abject moron.
I've been wanting to change my profile pic for a long time but i told myself i wouldn't until he doesnt coach like an idiot......so I'm ****ed.

I liked Arnold but would not have had a chance at Mateer. He showed no willingness to wait it out and followed his old OC to Miss St.; so who knows if we really had an opportunity with him. The staff have much more information than we do and I'm sure they're operating in a manner they feel gives []__[] the best outcome.

Arnold ended up at Auburn. Regardless they should have pivoted away from Mateer and at worst case got Mendoza.

Did we even try to get mendoza,moss,saltter, mensah to visit?

Serious question..Or were we just focused on mateer only even tho it felt like a dream with his oc going to ou

Head man in charge knows it's no threat of losing his job is the only way this can be explained. Because if this was any other coach they would be flying the plane lol

You’re not wrong with the threat part but I don’t believe that is it. I think it’s just pure incompetence and this staff thinks they are smarter than what they really are.

I'm absolutely shocked they haven't signed a QB to replace Emory as backup or to create a competition in case they complete s*** the bed on a starter.
Agreed... Even last year when Mario was waiting with Cam he at least added Poff to the room and had little Tua on hold as well.

So a month ago I asked jokingly about Cam Rising. Now I’m not joking…. Would y’all take him with his injury history?
Yes of course lol at this point if there is no real plan you beg him to come here and hope he can be healthy. He won’t be lol but you still need someone who has run a fkn offense
