As pessimistic as I can be, our QB situation is one thing I tried to remain optimistic about...with that being said, I'm not seeing a positive outcome for us (at least right now). Ewers and Beck both feel like a long shot. Would love to be proven wrong.
I am usually results oriented rather than process oriented. There’s many roads to get to a good result and in the end the result is all that matters. This QB search has made me entirely rethink this philosophy. We’re stuck with Mario, but it is clear that the guy can’t walk and chew gum at the same time, over complicates just about everything, can’t get out of his own way and thinks working hard can beat working smart. He is an abject moron.

See if anything comes of this. Would make it more likely 1 or more of Beck, Ewers, Milroe come back for another year.

Would also put PSU in the market for a QB, if Pribula can't/doesn't want to get out of Mizzu portal commit. Only viable option on their rooster is Grunkemeyer.

While definitely not ideal am confident the Spring portal period is going to be wild for QBs this year. Potentially 5 playoff teams (Oregon, OSU, UGA, ND, PSU) + Bama may be in the market for an experienced starter if they're not happy with the unproven guys they have in house after Spring practice.

This right here. Too many unknowns from big teams who are going with unproven QB's. Honestly should have just grabbed Mendoza and called it a day.

You are not finding a decent QB in the spring portal unless all the unproven guys hit.

Now Drones is literally our last hope.

I’ve said it numerous times, but I don’t think it can be stated enough. Mario and company sure did **** up the QB portal search this year. Inexcusable and embarrassing especially with the selling point of our offense. Mario is too **** arrogant for his own good sometimes.

who do you believe did we missed out on?

I agree with what you’re saying for the most part. However, like you said at the beginning of your response the **** doesn’t look too **** good right now. The portal window is still open, but most of the legit options have either already committed or the window for their particular school has expired. Mario’s arrogance ****ed us with the Mateer all in. I’m sure he felt it was another Ward situation. Obviously it wasn’t and there were other options they didn’t pursue.

Jackson Arnold should have Plan A
Mendoza Plan B

End of story. I think we could have easily got either of those two.

I liked Arnold but would not have had a chance at Mateer. He showed no willingness to wait it out and followed his old OC to Miss St.; so who knows if we really had an opportunity with him. The staff have much more information than we do and I'm sure they're operating in a manner they feel gives []__[] the best outcome.

I think we’ve handled this as poorly as possible and we are going into spring with Emory the starter. I’m calling it. I think we’ve missed all the qb’s.
Into spring it’s likely we have Emory and Nickel, but hard to believe that if Beck and Ewers do end up going to the NFL, that we don’t tamper and find ourselves a QB in the spring portal window

I agree but next to Emory starting that’s worst case scenario. No good qb will enter in the spring. It will just be competition for Emory and then Emory will win the job because of his “knowledge “ of the offense.

So **** frustrating everything that’s happened with this program since November 1st.
