QBS in the Portal as of 11/28

I’d go all in on Milroe and make him say no. No way he goes in the top 3 rounds, right??

declared for the nfl, accepted his senior bowl invite, and signed with an agent

while that's true, he did not look experienced after two years in the system. it wasn't a fluke either, he was a deer in headlights and terrible against Iowa State

they'll battle it out, but emory's "experience" should be thrown out the window unless nickel can't grasp the playbook
Who was the last True Frosh QB that was godly genuinely asking, other than TLaw.

Believe it or not he might go in the first round. I don't see that but that's what some people are saying. Milroe going in the top 3 rounds for sure. This draft is super weak with QBs. After Cam and Sanders its a free for all where Milroe might go as the 3rd best QB.

IMO:
- Cam Ward - Top Qb off board. Worst case scenario is 2nd overall pick.
- Drew Allar - would be 2nd or 3rd Qb off board if he entered, but said he's returning. If PSU wins Natty I think he declares and is either picked 1 or 2.
- Garrett Nussmeier - would be 3rd or 4th Qb off board if he entered, but said he's returning.
- Shadeur Sanders - a lot of teams won't like him imo, but will likely end up 2nd qb off board since Allar/Nuss are apparently returning. Top 5 pick as of now. I think the PR of drafting him would probably have elevated him above Allar/Nuss but not sure many teams would grade him above those two as an actual player....
- Quinn Ewers - Likely mid to early 1st round pick right now. He's the kind of guy teams will like, but maybe not feel too strongly about. So many teams need a QB and ultimately he'll be one of the better actual passers you can draft. I'd predict him in that 10-15 range most likely.
- Jalen Milroe - a team could love his potential and view him similar to Anthony Richardson except way more experienced and more proven at actually passing. Id be interested to see if he does combine workouts. If he does and is great athletically some team WILL draft him early with the dream he can be Lamar Jackson. I think he'll be a late 1st that a team trades back into the 1st round to secure the 5th year option for. So probably 25-32 pick.
- Carson Beck - Imo I feel most confident his play and injury has dropped him outside the 1st round conversation. And QBs usually just don't go in the 2nd round, cause anyone you're confident in to take with a 2nd, you'd likely to move up into late first and secure a 5th yr option for.... So Imo Beck is likely a 3rd rounder right now. And I don't see him being able to do anything in offseason to improve his draft stock unlike Milroe. I guess he could nail his interviews, but idk.
- Tyler Shough and Jaxson Dart - Both were really productive and imo are likely to be taken much higher than anyone currently expects. I would not be surprised if either of these guys were drafted ahead of Beck today. Maybe 3rd or 4th rounders. Depending how many Qbs go could fall a bit I guess.
- Kurtis Rourke - Sleeper that goes maybe 5th round?

So Imo Carson Beck is the guy that is easiest to "lure" out of all the guys listed above that could return.

jalen hurts played well

but that's really not the point - more schools are doing it now

Nebraska with raiola,

alabama seemingly with keelson Russell next year, Michigan with underwood, us with nickel (if he beats emory)?

you either have to go to the portal or play them early because the fairy tale belief that you can develop qb's and they will be ready to play in year 3 like before is gone - they won't last more than a year or 2 max waiting if they are worth anything

a bit of optimism

bama is in same boat as us, same with michigan

their freshmen qb's are ranked higher but I guess If staff believes that strongly in nickel then they wouldn't be the only ones
Next year on paper should shape up to be one of the most even seasons in college football since probably 2007.

Contender QB's
LSU- Nuss
Bama- Keelon or Ty Simpson or Austin Mack
OSU- Sayin
Oregon- Dante Moore or Ewers
Texas- Arch Manning
PSU- Aller if he comes back if not they are in the same boat as us
Georgia- Stockton or Beck
Michigan- Underwood
Tenneesee- Nico
Ole Miss- Austin Simmons
ND- Unsure
Clemson- Klubnik
Az State- Sam Leavitt

Teams with the best QB's are probably LSU, PSU, AZ state and CLemson if Klubnik takes a step. Next season should be a fun ride.

Yall don't think we are winning regardless lol...
At the moment, there is no evidence to suggest we will. We have no QB. We lost a lot of productivity on offense. The defense roster is mediocre at best. We are striking out on DC’s. Dennis Smith is still here. Until these things change, it’s unlikely I change my position.

But I can predict you’ll continue stalking me. The ignore button is at your service if you don’t like my takes.

what is with saying "Dennis smith is still here"

did he hurt one of you guys?

we've done excellent in recruiting (for our standards) and in talent acquisition, why all the *****ing on CIS about him?

assuming I missed something but acting like Dennis smith is holding this program back is just dumb

Your ignorance is bliss.

I agree. I’m no Emory fan, and think he sucks, but Nickel as a true freshman will suck more and likely won’t win the job.
Your assumption of Nickel being worse is automatic simply because he's a freshman ? Emory was unheralded from bum f*** Panhandle Florida while Nickel was the Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year. Nickel isn't a projection off of traits he was highly productive in a difficult classification of hs football. And obviously as we've seen Emory hasn't improved at all.

That’s my assumption. I bet I’ll be right.

Yes, but we play in the ACC, even if our out of conference schedule is a bit stronger than in years past.

If Lyle is who we think he can be and we feature a lot of Lofton and the defense goes from catastrophic to average or even above average, than we could have a chance at 10 wins
That's a lot of ifs, and even assuming the best outcome for all those conditionals our RB room would pale in comparison to UGA's in Fromm's true frosh year, which was one of the best in recent college football history.

If our coaches are considering rolling with Nickel, the offensive portal class doesn't make sense. The only way it could possibly work would be for Nickel to be the second coming of frosh Trevor Lawrence with an average to below-average group of WRs (extremely unlikely) or to do what UGA did that year and have ~3100 rushing yards between 3 NFL backs and an elite defense. We weren't in on any of the top portal backs to replace Martinez, we got a C who is a great pass blocker but a middling at best run blocker, and TE who can run and catch but also isn't much of a run blocker.

I think it's a really bad idea to start Nickel as a true frosh next year with what we have on offense.

Michigan brought in Mikey Keene at least for reassurance. And they brought in portal DBs. They're gonna do what they do. Lean on the run and defense, if Underwood hits the ground running, awesome. If not, Keene starts and they're still an 8-9 win team
