QBS in the Portal as of 11/28

I'd be fully on board with Milroe. Just bomb it down the field and pound it with the running game.

You guys know better than I do but if you missed on Mateer it seems like Milroe is an alternative option that's very similar.

Milroe's sophomore numbers vs Mateer:

Milroe 2023
66%
2,800 yards
10.0 yards/att
23 TD
6 INT
531 rushing yards
12 rushing TD

Mateer 2024
65%
3,100 yards
9.0 yards/att
29 TD
7 INT
826 rushing yards
15 rushing TD

And that's against far better competition. I know it's not gonna happen but Damien Martinez, Milroe, Lofton, and a speedster on the outside, with this o-line, would be awesome to watch.

I liked him too. Not completely sold, but personally would take him over the Gronowski guy and anyone on the current roster in a heartbeat. Definitely had good pocket presence, some mobility, and pretty good accuracy on this throws. Seems to keep his eyes downfield when moving around the pocket. Extended some plays, including a TD throw. Can run when needed. A little on the short side. His arm strength does not seem to be fantastic, but seemed pretty good with the touch throws. Decision making was overall okay, but suspect at times. He had a couple of pretty bad picks--one a jump ball down the seam that never really had a chance and one a head-scratcher that the commentator blamed in part on play design. He probably should have thrown a third pick that was right into the chest of the DB.

Cool. Now compare Mateer and Milroe’s supporting casts. Or actually watch them play. Or anything other than raw stats.

We need a QB capable of throwing at least 30 TDS in a season with a low int percentage. I think we could get better at wrs. I'm not sure we can get better at te. Not sure we can get better at rb but I think it can be a stalemate compare to this year. I think we can get better on the interior online. We have a TON of questions on defense. I can't see guidry survives what we saw. Also by overhauling the defense it might take some time for the guys to get accommodate to a new scheme and personnel. It isn't look promising at the moment but it's a while until you the spring and summer. But I must say Mario reminds of John calipari. Can he get NFL talent yes. Can he outcoach his opponent or showcase good coaching when the team needs it no. The reason Mario and calipari haven't won more is because they are average to above average coaches.
Any QB with over a 57% completion percentage with these stats will command $1million+ and we will have staunch comp.

we won't have an offense like the one we had this year again in a decade plus, just don't have the talent to duplicate

but with milroe we could be a better team (Assuming we get a new DC)

we were already one of the most efficient running teams (yards per carry) against FBS this year. OL projects to be even better next year, and with milroe - we'd be the best running team in the country allowing us to game control like what GT did to us

a lot of IF's, but IF we get a new DC & milroe (rather have ewers), I'm equally as excited about next year as I was about this year personally

I’d like to get Ewers, but the latest rumor I’m reading on him is Oregon. Milroe with Martinez in the backfield with our O-Line would be interesting…just line up and pound the rock. One more interesting option, supposedly M.Murphy has yet to sign his papers with Oregon St. so he might be back on the market supposedly. Wouldn’t be my first option but given the choice between him and current options on the team it’s a no-brainer.
