Are You Sure About That John Cena GIF by MOODMAN

I am sure. I was the one saying we needed to go all in and wait for Cam Ward last year when everyone else wanted Howard. This year I'm saying we should go all in for Ewers.

I get it, people like to root for the underdog and Emory/Mendoza are that, Ewers is the opposite of that. But look at the film. Ewers is an NFL quarterback all day long. Easily. Look at that release, the accuracy, the quick decision making. He can make every throw and he has beautiful mechanics. He would rip ACC defenses apart just like Ward did in Dawson's scheme.

Also, consider that there's a reason Texas went 11-2 their first year in the SEC. That's not easy to do. So I know people want to overthink things but you get what you pay for in this case.

Ewers is nowhere in Cam’s stratosphere. Ewers is surrounded with as much talent in the country and still struggles at times. Missing easy *** throws. He’s been an enigma . Mendoza has never had talent around him or good protection. Plus he has two years.

His team is 11-2 in the SEC. How much is he really struggling vs how much do people just want to overthink things and root for the underdog? He's not very likable, but that doesn't mean he's not insanely talented. Ewers is an NFL quarterback easily. He throws a beautiful ball, has a lightning quick release, and he's decisive and has the arm strength to make any throw on the field.

Yeah he's good for a face palm moment every now and again but ****, you put someone with that kind of talent in the ACC behind our line and yes I don't think there's any drop off from Ward.

Gun to my head and I had to pick one I'm taking Ward over Ewers still but it's not such a wide gap, and I'm pretty confident saying we'd maintain a top 10 offense which keeps us on track. JMO.

Im a fan of Ewers and think before the injury he was on heisman pace but I dont think he is as talented as Cam. Thats just me tho, maybe I am a biased and until another QB can give me highlights like going into the swamp and throw for 350+ its gonna sound like blasphemy til then.

Put me in the camp that says Quinn Ewers is the quarterback we need. Get him and there's zero drop off from Cam Ward IMO. Anyone who thinks Mendoza or anyone besides maybe Mateer is even close to that level is crazy IMO. Not even close in terms of talent. Ewers would keep our offense in the Top 5. Get some better players on defense and we're cooking.

Of course that would take a lot of money so it's probably not happening but that's the path if you want to compete in 2025
Ewers is nowhere near Cam. Texas has arguably as much talent on offense if not more in WRs and they are barely top 25. Granted they are playing better defenses.

Ewers is streaky. He will be good and then suddenly turn into TVD for long stretches.

I would not be upset with him and prefer him to Mendoza (caveat I have not seen much of Mendoza outside of watching vs us and vs Auburn). However, to say he is as good as Cam is an insult to Cam. Ewers does not win us the games Cam did.

What impressed me the most about Ward was his leadership. He's a special player, we'll see a lot of him in the NFL. I have nothing but love for Cam Ward and like I said, I was all in on him this time last year when very few were.

My point was just you look for someone with that kind of toolbox - the release, the accuracy, the mechanics, the quick decisions - Ewers is the only one who's talked about in the portal who has that kind of top round NFL skillset like Cam had. That was the only point I was getting to. Nothing against Medoza either, I just don't see that same ceiling with him as I do Ewers or did with Cam

Time to start facing reality guys. Here’s our Qb1 next year. Honestly after watching a few games it doesn’t look that bad. He’s only a sophomore and can improve. I like Emory too but M15 has played 2 years of games and has beat and played close some top tier competition.

If every other qb can improve with our online and weapons then an even better Mendoza won’t be so bad. Don’t forget this guy was waxing Cams *** as a sophmore (⏸️). But Cam is Cam so that was that.

I like him , a true RPO qb with a solid ol and big fast rbs in Miami offense

Ewers is an NFL QB with a lot of elite traits. The reason I don't think there's a drop off from Cam is because... well you know that saying "styles make fights." The things Ewers is good at happens to be the things that Dawson schemes for. He doesn't have Ward's ability to extend plays, but he does have Ward's accuracy, as quick if not quicker release, and he gets the ball out on time and doesn't take sacks. You put him in Miami and I think he's a first rounder, and he becomes Mario's second first-round quarterback in a row. That can't be a bad thing

I can agree with that, I know when he had core injury he went from Heisman hopeful to falling off. Then the ankle injury. Is it for sure he is in portal or headed that way?

If Quinn Ewers is that good:

Why isn't he going to the NFL this year?
Why would Texas let him transfer?

Texas went 11-2 because of how easy their schedule was this year.. I'm not sure what their best win this year but it was either:
27-24 against Vandy
49-17 against UF (who didn't have Lagway or Mertz)
Or 17-7 against Texas A&M

They had an easy schedule this year.

If Ewers is sent away from TX - who is out there paying him this insanely large NIL deal? Like of course he’s getting $1m+ but he’s not even a top 5 round QB in the draft and I guess in theory OSU or UOre could pay but they have 5 stars behind at each school who sat last year already. I guess UGA would make sense in that scenario as well. I don’t know we would be enticing for him I’d imagine.

Why would UGA want Ewers? Kirby exposed him both times they played this season. Ewers folds when pressured.

He may go to NFL. If he does, he’s third round at worst.

Tx has no choice but to let him go.

You talk like someone who has never watched a whole game that ewers played in… Texas went 11-2 because they had the easiest schedule in the sec. Dude would leave if he had a 3rd round draft grade.

He might still go to the NFL this year, or he might stay in college and try to improve his draft stock. Just like Cam Ward.

Texas is a weird place where the politics of football sometimes matters more than the football itself. They have Arch Manning waiting to play. If Ewers transfers it's due to football politics.

And like others have said, he's had some bonehead moments too. Stuff to clean up. But that doesn't take away from the fact that he's an elite QB IMO
