Miami is capable of establishing a run game. Not having a great QB isn't the end of the team. Not having a defense will destroy the team.

Current CFP team passing rankings total yards:

1) Oregon - 3614 - 14th
2) Georgia - 3700 - 12th
3) Boise St - 2855 - 77th
4) Arizona St - 2917 - 71st
5) Texas - 3653 - 13th
6) Penn State - 3204 - 41st
7) Notre Dame - 2357 - 101st
8) Ohio State - 3052 - 38th
9) Tennessee - 2771 - 62nd
10) Indiana - 3182 - 28th
11) SMU - 3471 - 26th
12) Clemson - 3563 - 17th

Miami could lose 656 total passing yards next year and would still be the #1 passing offense in the playoff (and they played 1 less game than many of these teams). They could lose 1,000 and would still be middle of the pack.

They cannot have a bad defense.

They wanted to upgrade bc he isn’t very good. Just look at where he landed

Mateer would have been better but we play ND game one and also have UF on the schedule. He would be better in this offense and has the experience we need (and that Mario likes)

QB pickings pretty slim so far. The only QB even close to Ward's stratosphere in the portal so far was Mateer. I definitely wish we had engaged the Tulane kid before Manny got him. He would have brought more than Emory or Mendoza. They need to go shake more trees before settling.

There’s still a chance a new name pops up. I’ll refrain judgement on Mario until the portal closes and the dust has settled. He’s earned that after last year’s qb situation. Hopefully something is decided before Mendoza is gone.

Great people. Idk if you know anything about the neighborhood he grew up in but the cheap end of the housing market is 2 million dollars there. If that tells you anything lol just a lil entitled
